Accused of Satanism?!

I agree re the witches pyramid - keep quiet about it

I openly discuss religion with everyone as I find it fun to discuss stuff like that and learn about other people's beliefs

I openly have my religion listed on every social networking website I have because I have nothing to hide as people can like me or hate me but I won't care

My family as no problems as when they bring it up I bring up the fact their people murdered millions of women and child accused of witchcraft so we've worked past it

When I told my mother, she was shocked as a devout Catholic. Of course she was worried and I had to give the whole "power point" presentation on historical facts, and dispelling her notions of what I believe. I very much so enjoyed explaining the historical aspects of the holidays she celebrates and their significance relating to the various old religions deemed pagan. It took some time, but fortunately she accepted my views as my own, and actually enjoyed the history lesson I presented. In terms of Satanism I find it to be overly misrepresented and perverted by pop culture, misguided individuals, and fear. Just like any other belief one cannot comprehend, or refusal to accept it. Unfortunately that is the human condition. One at the end of it all can only hold true their self, and that in my opinion is the most noble way to live.

You could always hand them the Satanic Bible and tell them to educate themselves. XD

Or you can do your best to explain your position and that it's just a choice of lifestyle. Of course explaining along the side that you aren't a ""devil worshiper"".

My mother and brother know that i practice magic.i can say that their knowing is my own fault.i was writing some spells on my book of shadows and i forgot to hide it.my mum came and found it there.now my mum accuses me of being a satanist while my brother says i'm a witch.for me,i think they are misunderstanding me.so i just try to avoid such descusions as much as possible.

I have friends who are like that, they believe we are dark and evil. But if you explain to them that it is not like that, that you work elements and nature then they should accept it. And if they don't then it doesn't matter; it is your practice not theirs, if they want to alter you so badly, then they have to change....not you.

My parents are divorced and my father listens to heavy metal and is more dark than my mother and really doesn't care that I'm doing the craft, not only that but he is more open to ideas of practices and religions. My mother on the other hand Is christian, and was raised in a catholic background, and thinks that anything that is different, or may seem of, or that is supernatural is weird and she told me that only freaks do that. But I was like "It's my belief, not yours, everybody has different beliefs and you should repect that." and my mom said "I'm a child and that I'm not old enough to make that type of decision." It's been a couple months and I've been slowly building my altar up, and slowly adding things to it. And if she asks, I'm still going to tell her that "This is what I believe it, this is what makes me happy, and that this is what completes me in life," She thinks that it's not okay to be athiest. I'm not exactly athiest, I just haven't found the right religion yet.

And think nothing about it
But then a guy walks in to a store warring a pentagram and then chances are they will think hey he is a devil worshiper
probley someone will shun him

But most of all someone just won't respect him
Without knowing anything about him or his religion
But yes my point is that maybe if people come to understand religions that are not there own there wouldn't be so Much disrespect in the world

Then you are not hiding it well enough. Since you are just a child living under their roof, there are certain rules -- set by them -- which you must follow, or at least appaear to follow, until you are an adult in your own place.
