So what causes a Blood Moon? Like what exactly is t?

Passover doesn't have anything to do with a Blood Moon. However, in Jewish reckoning, Passover always begins on the first Full Moon after the Spring Equinox. They always calculated dates from sunset, so Passover actually begins this year at sunset on 14 April.

MiniAwesome, there are two different kinds of Blood Moon.

The first type of Blood Moon is the one that will occur on 4/15/2014. In this type of Blood Moon it is because there will be a lunar eclipse along with the full moon. During a total lunar eclipse, the moon will adopt a reddish-orange shade of color. As the Earth begins to cast its shadow on the moon, the moon will partially disappear from view. Then the moon begins to appear brighter with a red or orange hue thanks to Earth's atmosphere bending toward the moon.

The other use for the term "Blood Moon" is for the first full moon in after the Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is the first full moon after the Fall Equinox. The "Blood Moon" that falls next after the Harvest Moon was so named because that was the time of year when animals were traditionally slaughtered and the meat preserved to feed people through the winter. It is also sometimes called the "Hunter's Moon".

Wasn't suggesting Passover has anything to do with Blood Moon. But if you think of it how many Christian/Jewish/etc. holidays came about to blend religions. Someone should check how many Blood Moons coincide with other "calendar" holidays. As well as how many times has Blood Moon fallen on or near Passover. Something to think about.

This is what I know about the blood moon.

Blood moons are significant because in the 1400's the Jews got expelled from Spain during a blood moon, Israel was founded during a blood moon, the 6 day war was won during a blood moon for Israel.

I too am planning a spell casting and chanting from the start till the end of the cycle in hopes that this celestial event will make for a powerful spell. I am also fasting for 24 hours leading up to the event.

Back then I think they went by the lunar calendar. Which would connect their culture to the moon I believe.
