God created Eve to be Adams equal. his companion...soul mate even. God made Eve using Adams rib not to symbolise "If it werent for that mans rib women wouldnt be here".. it was to symbolise a bond...the spiritual bond of live and love.and the physical bbond of Adam's rib bone. like I said..details. oh and as a christian..i dont clam the catholic denomination of christianity.(no offence to catholics on this site) The history of that denomination is not one i like to think about. all the different translations of the bible, the inquisition, the relics, the witch trials, my Jesus wouldnt send Thousand of people to death at the steak. it is because of the catholic denomination that witches are ridiculed in the world and christions are ridiculed on this site. After centuries of corrupt clergy the church no longer stood for god..it stood for the gain of money. the very name pope or Preist or christian struck fear into the hearts of gypcies and even a majority of innocent women for fear of behing found unfairly guilty of witchcraft. like i said i dont claim the catholics.and just a random fact. I have read the bible. I have been to bible study. I have been raised Catholic and kicked out of the schools for asking to many questions, gone to different church's of different faiths.
Personally, I do not need a book to tell me to love my neighbor. I do not need, nor do I want a book to tell me what my morals should be. I do not want some paper bound by leather to be my guide, my conscious or my law.
I do not deny the exsistance of Jesus. I think he was a cool dude with some nice ideas. But I do think the bible is nothing more than stories meant to inspire and control. Emphasis on control.
If god wanted us to come to him on our own, explain to me why there is a book telling us what we need to do to be in his good graces. Why is there a book to show the mistakes and achievments of others if this is something we should discover on our own? Because we have the choice not to follow it? Or because someone out there decided everyone should follow the rules or be considered a freak of society?
It's simply my opinion of course, and I don't knock anyone for subscribing to that as their truth.
But for me, I don't need a book to tell me what to do. I never have and as long as the fire still burns with in me, I never will.

It was written by the Jews, yet the "Jesus was the Messiah" thing separated Jews from Christians, so why are you using their knowledge?

^_^ plus.. let me add to those who say... the bible is a way to control people.. *_* I do not know.. I mean.. the bible was and probably is and will be a way to control peoples idea... but... but... and I replied once again.. (this goes to healer) probably no one needs a book to tell them about morals.. but then again.. *_* to read is good.. and how can you know about morals if you never pick up a book ( of course you can have people telling you about it.. *_* but most of the time people try convince you more than advising you).. -_-.. All I am saying... is that you can deny having the bible as a guide.. or deny it.. or disgust by it.. what ever it is.. you have to admit.. the bible at least gave you an idea of what the whole ideal of what a human should be or act.. since if you read the bible without any prejudice... You will find the bible is an universal idea... that is practice in each religion or belief.. regardless if they believe in god or no (excluding extremes satanists; those who believe Satan is an entity and not a symbol.. I do not know their term meaning name if other is given.) ^_^ a person who says that study the bible.. but study in the terms of other religion like Chatholic or evangelic schools... more than studying it.. will be brain wash... -_- I know.. because I went to a evangelic school.. and go to catholic church.. ^_^ and when they say.. that if i asked too many questions.. I am questioning my faith.. -_- of course.. that is not true.. I am more likely questioning theirs. Few people are born wise...and yet they need knowledge to spread their wisdom.. for example will be Jesus himself.. Buddha.. Ghandi... Aristotle.. -_- (forgive me if I misspelled.. I am drunk.. HAHAHA) So, Healer.. all I am saying is that the Bible is an amazing book.. and to learn from it.. it is just awesome.. I myself is a fanatic of the bible.. and defend it.. on my own terms. The bible.. for the most part is a book of wisdom.. an astral thought... something that helps within us.. and as individuals.. we can come up with any conclusion.. for it. But the worst thing for it.. is to let some one else to tell us what we just read.. when "GOD" (if you believe in it and if you do not) gave us or we evolve BRAINS... -_- millions of tiny cells to conduct information... hahahaha.. that help us to understand what we read.. and if you did not understand. (because some times you end up not understanding) is get other books.. probably a dictionary or history book will do.. O_O and add peoples conclusions to the info.. to get what the bible says.. *_* but our own will always be the best.. (on each term.. yours might not be acceptable to me.. and mine to yours.. I agree one hundred percent with Healer. I was born with a sense of loving and helping my neighbor.Not to lie cheat and steal. But at the same time, I see too many christains going to church and not living up to what that book says the rest of the week. It makes me sick to my stomach. i know of very very few true christians. As for one Particular book as Revlations- I think it is full of metaphors period. as is the rest of the book.
Men picked what they felt "we should read" out of the books of the bible. How dare they assume what we can and can not read.Words have been changed around to prove one persons point-as in poisoner was changed to witches. Makes you wonder what the truth really is.
In the end its a personal decision to believe or not to believe. I know I am on the Path my creator made for me years ago.And I am happy with that.
I didn't read any of this post only the first post is all I read, but ummm if you look at the bible, in rev, you'll see that the prophecies are starting to happen.
