JK, something to keep in mind is that America is mostly a Christian country. Even though reports suggest that many people are turning to being Muslim, a majority of America is still Christian and as such something to do with Christianity is logically more likely to cause a big stir then something effecting Paganism since Paganism doesn't have as many voices as Christianity does. The ten commandments are something many Christians view as sacred, but to them the moon is a giant floating rock that orbits the Earth. Likewise many Pagans who don't care about Christianity may view a monument with the ten commandments written on it as a large rock with words scribbled on it. It is not a matter of agreeing with anything that someone says there could be a profit from, it is a matter of what different people view as sacred. Honestly, if someone wanted to bomb a site that Christians view as sacred, once again there would be an uproar about it. There are just more Christians to cause an uproar then there are Pagans.
When I told my Christian friends about what NASA wants to do with the moon, they got pissed off because they really did thought that they were going to bomb the moon, they love the moon too =D, but I explained it to them that they really aren't going to bomb the moon and they calmed down.
What does it matter if there is water on the moon or not. Look at the state our beautiful mother nature is in because people are greedy. I'm talking about things like large factories polluting the air just to make money by selling luxuries to rich people who only thinks about themselves. Or rich people who wears fur coats and hangs stuffed animals on their walls or use gorilla hands as ashtrays. People think that they can rule nature, but mother earth is strong, she can wipe us away in one shot for example tsunamies. Sure the moon gets hit by asteroids all the time, but it is a natural process . Why do the people need to interfere all the time? It makes me so sad and that is why there are so many problems in this world, because of greed. William Wordsworth once wrote a poem 'the world is too much with us' and in this poem he talks about the same problem namely that people are greedy and wants to rule everything and by doing so they don't appreciate the beauty of nature 'it moves us not'.
