i think that's like saying all Wiccans are fat teen girls or feminist hippies. while some are, this is a stereotype. i've met my share of male witches, only two weren't straight. one's bi [and is engaged to a woman] the other is gay. it's just stereotype.

Nope, male Witches are called Witches. The word "witch" comes from the Anglo-Saxon "wicce" which is a female Witch and "wicca" which is a male Witch. So the term Witch applies to both sexes.

The term "Warlock" is also from the Anglo-Saxon and means someone who is an oathbreaker. To call a Witch a Warlock is actually insulting because you're effectively saying that they aren't to be trusted. Hollywood picked up on the term and has used it in ways that it was never meant to be used.

Lark is right on both of those terms. A witch is a witch. No need to add gender labels. To avoid conflict I usually call magic users Practitioners. A general term that isn't gender specific. No not all male witches are homosexual. I am both a pagan and I practice magic. I am not gay. There have been points made previously that pagan faiths tend to be more open and accepting of all peoples. That might be a contributing factor to the stereotype. But really to say all male witches are gay is unfounded.

Homosexuality is, to be gentle, frowned upon in Christianity. Therefore, it is a common Christian belief that all homosexuals must be Pagan. This is completely wrong. period.
