It's "Yin" and yang. Yin and yang, I admit I don't know much about that except that it is the name of a symbol and symbolizes the balance between good and evil, but neither light nor darkness can be seen as good nor evil. Light is often the symbol of good, but when I am in to much light it's like needles are being shot through my eyes. Darkness is the symbol of evil, but when I am in the dark I feel safer and more secure. I myself am not evil, but I by far prefer the dark to the light.
Shadows rely on both light and darkness. Without light there is no shadow and without darkness there is no shadow. The existence of a shadow is, in my opinion, a monument to the balance between light and darkness.
I did NecroN, for if light was not real nor would dark. They define eachother. Dark-with out light Light-without dark. Know if Dark was not real nor would light. Do you get it? That is what yin Yang simbolises. Dark is Light and Light is Dark. Yes light is made by Dark.
Wasted, that is not so. Dark is the ABSENCE of light just as light is the ABSENCE of dark. Without darkness there would be only light everywhere, with no shadows. I also imagine the Earth would be allot hotter then it is now. Without light there would only be darkness, and we would likely change into strange creatures that crawl around without eyes and use our ears to find our way kind of like bats do.
Darkness has been here longer then god and satan and the world .

Well isf you dont under stand what im saying look at the night sky . kill the stars and the sun ,so what would we all be in ?
And also shadows need light some do not , if you look deep with in the night with out light you could see shadows from trees ,cars, houses . some people can see this and others can't . you should try it some time .
*claps* thank you Maron that is what I am trying to say. Dark was hear first but light was not but when light was hear then it made a blalance with dark. Look at the world, then you would see half of the world is dark and half is light. So thare is ALWASE a ballance just not alwase in people.
Yes, the shadows are there in the dark of night BECAUSE THERE IS LIGHT! If there is no light then, unless you have heat vision, YOU CAN'T SEE! And heat vision, by the way, would not have shadows because you are seeing the difference between hot and cold not light and dark. Read a science book, this isn't some mystical mythology where some believe one thing while some believe others and all can be true. This is a matter of reality. I'm not talking in metaphors for good and evil. You said yourself, Manon, that there is light in the night sky. What you didn't point out, but any educated person should know, is that the light in the night sky is what makes the shadows on the ground. Or do you think the shadows of the day just pop up from the Earth to say, "Hello sun, I know you!"
The existence of light is the absence of dark, the existence of dark is the absence of light. If there is no light then we have solid and absolute darkness, if we have no darkness then we have absolute light. Absolute light would not exist unless there was a light-source on every molecule around. Absolute darkness only exists in places where there is no light. They can both exist without eachother, because the lack of one means the existence of the other.
