I think it would be a good idea to have sub-chatrooms. Say your friends and you are part of two or more different covens. A sub-chat would enable your friends,(or students) to go to your profile and talk directly with you/each other from there, without unwanted distractions. I don't know if that's even possible, but it would help :D
i agree with whiterav3n, an edit funtion for posts would be amazing, other than that, a way for people to mark fluffy spells to be deleted. i know admin can do that, but some way to flag it. i've used the spam link, but i don't think that works. but yea, the edit option would be awesomesauce.
When you create a forum post or spell, you can also pick an item or two in the shop that corresponds to what you are teaching. For example, if you are writing an article on pendulums, you could somehow select a pendulum from the shop, and it will show as a example of the tool used with the teaching. It would ideally be located on the side of the post, maybe just shown as a link within the text.
Having more forums would be nice, I know I suggested earlier that an herbal medicine forum be created separately from herbalism to distinguish the difference between medicinal herbalism and that of magical herbalism. But I was also thinking that there should be a forum for people to just ask question, because I keep seeing random posts that are always filling up the wrong forums as they have nothing to do with the forum category. Also in addition perhaps other forum categories could be added, such as forums for other paths, because Wicca is just one path, but many people here follow other paths, I for example am a Shaman among many things but don't know where to pace it other than misc. topics which I find inappropriate. All in all I think that having some more forum categories would be nice and would open up room for more specific and detailed information.
You should update the inbox to where you can delete the whole column if you want because clicking the little box on the side to delete them will take forever
Here are some ideas I would like to present for site development reasons. I hope that my thoughts will be taken seriously, everything is done for good reason and from my will to help and to enjoy the site even more Please notice that I am not posting this to make you guys busier than the current situation, I am doing this because i want topresent few ideas for the site's own good and development. I am not pushing anyone tohurry up anddevelop the ideas immediately, it is just helpful to have some ideas and suggestions which might help the site to be even better than its current condition (which is great) ;)
1.I think that every spell/article which is added by the covens “Spell casters” or “Teen witches”, should be authorized and checked before being added to the site’s list of spells/articles.
Reason: as all of us have mentioned, the site has a lot of spells and articles in it which is read by millions of members. A large amount of them is fluff and includes none sense topics, so newbies are being always mislead, knowledgeable members being offended due the stupidity and the misinformation and the wrong teaching and the site loses its reputation. These spell are added by the covens “Teen witches” and “Spell casters”, because everyone gets the council position in them. If Editors/Moderators/Admins will dedicate some time to authorize and check these spells/articles before letting them to be published, it will avoid a lot of fluff, wrong information, wrong teaching and reputation loss.
2.It would be really helpful and great if there will be the possibility to go immediately to a site which is linked in the forums.
Reason: As you can see, when a link is given in the forums, one has to copy that and then paste it in another tab for getting to the page which was linked in the specific comment/forum thread. Not everyone finds it comfortable to copy the link and then to paste in in another tab. Lets not forget that several people here visit us by using the cell phones or other tablets, so they have to close their page and open a new one, then if they want to return to the previous page – the have to type the URL again and again… So if we could only be capable to press the links given in the comments/forum threads, it could make our time in the site much more comfortable and enjoyable.
3.Another great feature which can really help members who teach and answer question in the forums, is to let us to be able to add pictures and few other images in addition to the material which is given by writing. It could be also helpful to let it happen in the spells and the articles tab.
Reason: In order to let members understand the material we give in the spells/articles/forum posts, pictures or additional images might be required. For example, if I explain in a spell/article/forum post about a specific sign which is hard to find in the internet and it is required for magical working, I might need to add a picture or any other image to make my information understandable. It could give my contribution: informative and understandable, better appearance from the first sight, and quality…
4.It is a great idea to let members open user names, using names which have been already deleted.
Reason: Members who have been deleted do not remain with their previous user names any longer. A lot of new members have difficulties to find new original names to stay under, as all of us can see. So it would be a great Idea to let the deleted names remain on the site again, used by new members who come to the site. This is just a thought though, because sometimes it is really hard to think about original name. If there is any problem with this offer, there can be a limit. For example, a deleted user name can be refreshed only if it has been deleted for at least several years. I know it is not a good idea to let one open a member under a name which was deleted before few days, it can cause a lot of confusion, so the years limit is also a very good idea.
5.Another thing that can really improve the site is to change the age limit to 15-16.
Reason: several little kids under the age of 15 can be found on this site. We have all observed and mentioned that this causes to a lot of fluff, immaturity, childish behaviour and trolling.
If one is a serious magic practitioner or at least not a troll or a fluff bunny and is under the age of 15, he would be able to wait until he is in the proper age to join the site. So, my recommendation is to change the age limit to 15-16, it could really avoid: fluff (un-proper spells/articles and forum posts), trolling and childish behaviour. It would let us talk about serious topics, and let the serious magic practitioners to communicate and share experiences. And also let us help newbies without getting trolling comments and fluffs.
That’s all of the ideas I could currently think of, various offerings for site updates and website development suggestions will be given later, when newer ideas will pop up in my mind. I will save further ideas for the future, since I know that this summer is going to be a hard working for the site’s management.
