Serpentfire, I happen to know a bit about healing myself and I don't disagree with Gurby just because I believe what he says is wrong nor just because I am not an expert of so many years on this topic, I disagree because I have seen first hand that it is wrong.
I agree that if someone knows nothing about healing, and thus is not a healer, they should not do it. However, if someone has a natural talent for it there is no reason why that talent should be wasted. To me, wasting a talent is stupid. Yes, some extra training/practice is always good for everyone no matter how experienced they already are, but I would sooner allow one of the friends who I have seen heal tend to me then I would someone with "official documents" or something otherwise indicating training. Most of the friends who I have seen heal did not receive training, they do it naturally because they have that natural talent I mentioned before.
Long story short: Training is not required. It is a luxury, not a necessity. However, if the individual who wishes to heal does not have a natural talent for it, they should receive training prior to practicing. And for those natural healers out there, don't stop. Don't waste your talent.
you cannot just rely on plain talent and call it "thats that" i say you must have a trained person who has a proper insight to what they are doing rather than just "the knack" for it.
What you say goes against who I trust. And besides that, nowadays it's easy to get papers claiming that you can do some magickal act, including shapeshifting or stereotypical necromancy. All you need is a printer, of course paper, and a program to make it look official which is simple enough with photoshop.
I'd rather trust the people that I have seen do things right than someone who simply claims to have had training, even if they have documents backing up that claim. Obviously that doesn't mean healers should not get training, just that I trust those who can prove it more than those who can't and so far even amongst the certified I have yet to see someone do so better than those who practice just by talent.
First off, gurby, a decent energy barrier will block all energies, positive, negative and neutral, unless the caster deems a specific type to be permitted.
Second off, gurby, true not everyone knows the basics, but logic would simply state that if someone who doesn't know the basics is around, they are not going to be affiliating themselves with people who do things to them for quite some time until they know the basics, if they do anyways, who should care of their fate? When you make your bed, you must lay in it, only this way can you grow in wisdom and knowledge.

Fourth off, gurby, yes, I do want someone healing me the way they see fit, because they may know of something I do not, I learn who I can trust and who I cannot trust with the task, and through this I simply put it in their hands.

Serpentfire, This thread was more about Self-Righteous Offensive Fixers with No Curtsies toward those getting Fixed(Healed)without their Granted permission.

Barriers block what they are intended to block. The only times they won't is if someone has a stronger will to get something past that shield than the creator has to keep it out.
As for permissions, I thought about it a little more, and I'm more half and half. Sometimes someone may need healing more urgently, in such times I'd rather they just get to it instead of sitting by waiting for permission. Other times, people don't ask for permission and it isn't even necessary. That is what I might call a loose cannon healer, regardless of training. I'd rather have an untrained and untalented individual do the task requested of them than have a trained individual do so regardless of whether it's needed/desired.
a Loose Cannon Healer: is someone who Forces a Healing(Changing Of Energy)on someone.Many Loose Cannons have no Knowledge( Doing Such Unconsciously) of what they are doing.
While others do it anyways for their OWN PERSONAL BENEFIT (Their Own Personal Power Game.), JUST LIKE A RAPIST !!! This is Unacceptable!
If you know nothing about healing,then don't mess with it!! There is more to changing energy then just making it different?

We are not talking about a Dire Circumstance, The issue was about simple MALE Grief and Anger of someone who was walking and talking and slightly VERBALLY Self-Destructive.
And if a Healer isn't sure of the differences, then they have no business doing a healing. Training Matters!!
I don't see where exactly you specified what the condition of the 'victim,' we could call him, would be. Nor, for that matter, the gender. Because of that, I assumed it would be just in general, but this may be one of those topics where an 'in general' statement isn't such a good idea. I have yet to be in such a dire situation that I would be so desperate to let just anyone help me, but if ever I were I would rather have somebody who had no clue whatsoever what he/she was doing instead of having nobody at all.
Anyways, I think this conversation has gone on long enough for me. I've made my points and stated my beliefs and opinions. Now I'll try to stay out of it.
it's the same as having a "doctor" with no clue how to work the scalpel slice your insides...i don't think that you would trust him that easily lol. I wouldn't. Energy can be just as harmful as a scalpel...and the human energy system is just as complex as the biological body so you have to know your way around it before you get to the point where you can heal.
