Okay, I'm sorry, but why do you all keep referring to him as "the Devil"? I'm not a believer in him or anything, but it seems kind of... hypocritical of some to call him that when, anybody that knows anything about Spirtual Satanism, his proper name is Satan, Lord Satan, or Father Lucifer. And I mean hypocritical because the "devil" seems like a term he is called by people that don't know what he really is or like the people in Hollywood movies... Either way, it is all a personal belief.

There are several different spiritual worlds and many different spiritual beings. Why do you want exactly pact with a Devil?
Here is a good book about.

Summerdragon, Satan is a Hebrew term meaning 'opposer' or 'adversary' and can therefore apply to many beings and not just one being. The word is universal for any being (or person) who does not accept Jewish theology and seeks to oppose the ideologies of monotheism.

Lucifer is a specific being with a specific mythology behind him.

The devil again is an ambiguous term, but I think we know whom everyone is talking about when that term is used- the Judeochristian evil mastermind.

Personally, I am not a dualist, I do not believe in the devil, I think he was bogeyman concept to make sure people stayed in line. Since no one can define a soul, prove it's existence, or even quantify it- it could not be sold.

I don't know where people have got this idea from. Even in medieval grimoire traditions where 'demons' are evoked a deal is never struck, or if it is, it is never for your soul- it is usually for an offering or veneration. I have never once heard of a magician selling his soul, I think the idea is ridiculous and shows that people have no real understanding of occultism.

You can't sell your soul to a belief. It's pure fiction. It's called dedicating.

This thread is about Faust, it is a story. It's fiction! And if there really is a Devil, do think he's bothered about you? The idea is that if you're a bad guy he will get you anyway. If you're a good guy, he wont!

Fautus is a play and is entirely fiction, not a grimoire. It is a very good play for its time and is very ahead of it's time in the philosophical notions of Hell. Mephistopholes is a very interesting character.

Armadel, The Key of Solomon, Clavicus, The dragon Rouge, Picatrix, The Sacred Magick of Abramelin the Mage- These are grimoires and most of them are filled with fiction as well, or as what modern occultists would describe as 'blinds'- that is traps for stupid people!

Magia nauturalis et innaturalis is a real magic grimoire.
Book Magia naturalis et innaturalis [Natural and Supernatural Magic] by Dr. Johannes Faustus (Passau Anno 1505). Taken from the Coburg Ducal Library.

I thought you meant the play.

Upon researching that book it is consistent with what I said- filled with blinds, but also no mention of selling the soul.
