As previously stated, modern archaeology can point out the causes of death pretty often with complete skeletons, and those of the stone hedge have been overwhelmingly, if not completely, dead from disease or infection.
It is a grave, and a powerful one at that, as graves tend to be doorways to the netherworld in many of our opinions and personal theologies.
I agree with Bryson. I was obsessed with Archeology! Literally, that's all i wanted to study. Parents shot that down of course, but whatever.
Normally you learn a basic summary of the stonehenge at grade 8(USA &Canada) but continue further....as years progress.
Firstly, it 's a sacred place. But skeletons are not flesh. It sucks you couldn't tell the ''difference'' . But , um. Basically learn the history and the basic beliefs of your area and the sacred place itself!
Brysing I do know the history of my area and all I was saying is that I think it was a sacrifice if you need proof that I know my area then just ask. Thus form started as a simple question and now I'm getting insulted and accused of not knowing my area disappointing
Oh,dear! You are not being insulted. Certainly not by me! I am merely pointing out that perhaps you have not studied Stonehenge as much as I have, and you live there! Stonehenge was not always as it is now. The blue stone circle that is now inside the henge, was once outside the henge, and a much bigger circle than it is now. This is where most of the graves are.
Of course,there have been archaeological digs at the henge over hundreds, indeed thousands,of years. The latest dig was by a team led by Pro. Mike Pearson.
Stonehenge is not the only henge in Britain,or in Europe. There are many others. There was once a very large stone ring around the town of Amsbury! There was once a stone roadway from Stonehenge down to the river. This has also been "dug" and graves found alongside it.
All the bones found are being examined by Forensic Scientists, and, so far, all the causes of death have been from disease,infected wounds,or old age!
So please don't think that just because somebody disagrees with you, that you are being insulted. Not at all!
You have to look from my point of view if I told you that your heritage was wrong for example how would you feel
If u really need proof then here goes this is my suronding area not just Stonehenge in the early 16 hundreds there was a battle around old Sarum I can't remember the two sides but the leaders of the castle won by the advantage of being on higher ground than their enemy
Amesbury has a hero called the amsbury archer who was supposed to shoot an arrow over 500m and where it landed was the beggining of amsbury
The Stonehenge archeoligysts uncovered and animal skellington from an animal that was meant to be ixtinct before the time that one died
I do know my area maybe not the Stonehenge exact but I do know it
