When you say make your own spell, are there components to them that we have to include? Or just say what we want as the final outcome?

Absolutey, mishal. Only very specific, dangerous, primarily Hermetic rituals cannot be changed. Trust me, if you were performing one of these you'd know it, so don't worry. ;)

Excepting for those, changing rituals and spells is perfectly fine provided you know what you're doing. Think of magick as being sort of like cooking; you are totally free to change the recipe or even make up your own, but if you don't know what you're doing you're probably going to end up cooking something that tastes obnoxious.
