I have seen so many people who claim to have "amazing" powers since I have come to this site. It seems as though it has gotten worse over the summer. There are quite a few honest people on this site. They are the ones who contribute actual knowledge to this site. However it is difficult to tell who knows anything, especially when you are a newbie. There are people who claim to have been doing magick for 4 years and have no knowledge of magick. I am no powerful witch, I cannot perform advanced kinesis, astral project, and I do not cast spells often. I am proud of my faults because I know I can actually get rid of them. I take pride in not being able to do many things in magick and I do not claim to be able to do them. I just wish everyone else didn't, that way there would be more widespread knowledge on this site. Newbies would be able to learn much faster and the information would be correct. In hopes that everyone tells the truth about their abilities,
I agree! There are a lot of people said that they learnt magick for more than 5 years, but unfortunately, some of them have NO knowledge about magick, just like what you said WayoftheWind. We should always be honest on what we did, this is the best way of learning. Mistake is not important, the most important it you know the mistake and please do not repeat it again.
This is why some of us are watching the intro forum almost constantly. I say watching, because every now and then. I honestly find people I just don't want to talk to. Maybe it's their word or how I feel at the time, but that's beside the point. For the most part we are watching for newcomers in hopes of showing them the best way to act and how to find the answers your looking for, and how to know to whom they should direct questions. In a sense trying to squash the ignorant things before they happen. It doesn't always work, but until it gets out of hand, it seems to be left alone, and people are just free to peruse and think what they want. Personally, I use this to see more what people are really about, how they respond to things, how gullible they may be, or how domineering. People are free to do or say whatever they wish, until they harm or offend. Whoever buys the nonsense put out there, has equal chance to find truth, should they be willing to search or even believe it when they find it. They set their own paths, the same as you or I.
I agree and understand where your coming from I am new to all this and although had an interest for many years i have never done anything about it. When I stumbled on this site its brilliant but at the same time what you say is very correct its difficult to know who to trust and believe. Already been lucky and got some great advice. Im so wanting to believe in this and i feel i do but when you read and learn of these brilliant Magickal powers some claim to have its harder to believe
just for the record i dont have any magickal powers but i really am enjoying trying to learn about Magick and find the site very useful. If everyone was honest it would make it easier for new people to believe but at the same time id not fully understand what was possible.
i agree with ya wayofthewind. It's irritating when you are one of the people who does know something, and then someone who doesn't know anything at all who is "pretending" makes things seem more interesting comes along and steers those who know nothing at all astray. I've noticed when i've been in the chatter trying to help people, there are kids who wanna learn and others who have teachers who are in the same boat as they are, and they pull the ones i'm trying to teach away from me. It's disgusting and rude.
