Titles???

do people here give themselves titles like, witch or wizard? personally i dont give myself a title, because of the perception in the world, if you declare yourself a witch you are crazy and if you declare yourself a mage you are from DD and if a wizard you are harry potter we cant win. thats why all the time when people ask me my religion or hobby i would say occult and then feel the need to explain myself the difference between witchcraft and harry potter to avoid mocking remarks, and the impression that i'm crazy and people still think that does anyone else have this problem too?

I've thought about that a lot. For me it depends, sometimes I feel like calling myself a witch, other times a wiccan. I like the word witch personally. Except no one knows I am one, its just in my head. I've also wondered when do you call yourself a witch/siccan/etc., is it after you've done a spell, or when you master a form of magick. Or maybe right when you start practicing. Any other opinions on that, because I still feel wierd calling myself a witch, even though I have done spells succesfully and stuff.

I once called myself a wizard, then a satanist, then a witch, then a mix between satanist and witch, and now I am free of the self imposed boxes of titles. Not meaning offence to anyone who titles themselves, I just prefer to exist without them, leaves me free to explore different things that sometimes a name will hold you back from doing ;)

I call myself witch and have used that lable since I started.

I personally find that at worst I get a few odd looks or a random comment from those who are ignorant.

That lable doesn't actually prevent me from learning or doing anything. In my opinion, the only walls one is forced to stay within are the ones they set themselves.
