Crystals

I use a lot of crystals in my practice as well as when I am making oils. There are so many different ways to use crystals and I am sure, even more than I know. Below is a bit of history and the list of crystals that I use and have in my own book of shadows.

From as far back as the days of the legendary lost city of Atlantis, through the ancient Mayan and Hebrew civilizations, and including Far Eastern and Native American cultures, crystals and gemstones have been used both in spiritual rituals and as aids to physical healing.

Today the practice of using stones and crystals continues. Not only with the aboriginal shamans of Australia who use stones to commune with spirits, but with ordinary people across the world who claim extraordinary results.

How do crystals work? No one seems to know for sure. Tales tell that they were first used in Atlantis. Crystals became important to the people of that civilization who believed in their capacity to store and amplify any power source fed into them - physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

Practitioners of modern-day crystal therapy believe that the stones' ability to work as conductors allow them to focus energy via a person's thoughts to stimulate healing - both physical and non-physical.

However, in addition to medical controversy as to their efficacy, the use of crystals for healing is not an exact science. There is plenty of information available to describe which crystals and gemstones are good for treating certain ailments or for the prevention of certain conditions. The problem is that much of it appears contradictory.

Still, thousands of people world-wide swear by the use of crystals for a variety of mental, emotional, and physical problems. There are numerous claims that they aid such in diverse areas as harmonious relationships, allergies, and spiritual awakening.

Crystals are used in meditation and spiritual ceremonies, laid on the body during types of massage or bodywork, when a person is resting, or placed in drinking or bathing waters.

It is claimed that an odd number of facets on the stone aid in healing, while an even number of facets create the best energizers. Red, yellow, and orange stones are said to produce energy, clear and aquamarine stones are healers, and lavender and blue-violet stones create calming effects.

All crystals and gemstones "vibrate" on their own individual frequency. In that respect they are similar to us human beings. We have all had the experience of meeting a perfect stranger for the very first time and either liking that person immediately or feeling an antipathy towards them - without in any way being able to explain our feelings or emotions.

To fall in perfect love is a beautiful and wondrous experience -the coming together of two minds, two spirits and two physical bodies, both "vibrating" on the same beautiful frequency!

Crystals and gemstones should be chosen in exactly the same way. It is so very important that the stones which we choose and use should "vibrate" on a frequency as close as possible to our own.

Another important thing to note is that the crystals are in fact alive. They may not be classifiable as carbon based lifeforms, but they are still alive. As such they should be treated with the same love and kindness as we would show any other living thing. A crystal that likes you will be more useful then a crystal that does not and by liking you the crystal may show you new ways for it to be useful to you, including the mundane act of being a friend you can talk to.

Absolutely! It is imperative that your crystals be treated with care and respect. It is also important that when choosing crystals, you allow the crystal choose you.

When I am purchasing my crystals, I allow my hands to touch as many as time allows or until I feel the crystal emitting heat into the palm of my hand, feel a vibration or hear it talking to me. Sounds strange I know, but yes, I do hear them. (I also hear plants and trees) Yep, I'm an odd sort.

Sodalite: This stone crackles with energy. I use it for lightning magic or energy storage, probably because of the lightning like patterns. It's a nice dark blue with white veining that forks rather like lightning on a night sky.

I noticed that I was always telling this or that piece of information on stones and I decided it might be easier if I just made a list of stones and their uses.

Jet: To stabilize finances and protect businesses, place in a cashbox or the wealth corner. Jet promotes taking control of life, and gives protection during spiritual journeying. Those attracted to this stone are ''old souls'' with long experience of incarnation on earth.

Blue Kyanite: Has a high vibration and creates very rapid transfers of energy. Opens the psychic channels and activates the mind centers.

Onyx: A stone of inner strength. Also a stone of physical strength. It has the energy of self mastery. For those who have an abundance of ideas, but lack the discipline to carry them out, Onyx can bring you down to earth and keep you on task.

Opal: Used to awaken psychic perception and mystical awareness, opal strengthens memory and aids in dreaming. It encourages flashes of insight and helps the wearer to achieve their higher potential. It offers creativity and inspiration. can stimulate change to occur in your life - if you are not prepared for this, it may be better to chose another stone. If you are prepared for a change, opal can help to catalyze this, causing opportunities for growth to spring up around you.

pink sapphires work like a magnet and attract what you need in life in order to evolve, this stone also in time when u get the hang of it you will get the hang of its strong vibrations and you'll learn how to master emotions, this stone will help u clear out emotional blockage and will balance out energies

Pink Sapphire:

Technically there are sapphires of every color except red and orange. A sapphire is a type of mineral called corundum. It is the second hardest naturally occurring mineral known to man, rating a 9 out of 10 on the Moh's hardness scale.

The truth about corundum is it occurs in every color, but red corundum is called ruby not sapphire. If someone tries to tell you they have a red sapphire, they are wrong. There is no such thing as a red sapphire. Same thing if someone tries to say they have a pink ruby. Pink corundum are called ''pink sapphires''

My favorite color of corundum is in fact the only other color with a separate name. The padparadscha is a flame colored corundum which ranges from red-orange to orange-yellow to almost peachy pink in color. Any corundum stone in this color range is considered a padparadscha.

The energy of this stone is amazing. The color of the stone seems to reflect the energy it will focus best. Like a tourmaline they come in all the colors of the rainbow, but unlike tourmaline they are very hard and durable. This makes them more suitable for items such as rings or bracelets that see a lot of wear and tear.

I know this is a lot of non-magical information, but I personally find that knowing more about my stones makes me harmonize better with them. If you found this boring I apologize. I used to work at a jewelry store so I find this stuff interesting.
