In a biological sense..
Love is a hormonal caused feeling in which is a form of courtship to find a mate and have wonderful little ape babies.
In a spiritual sense..
Its a mental connection between two, positive energy bonus, in which can lead to a soul/spirit/whatevayahwannacallit connection.
True love is the recognition of your intended lover in this lifetime, and realising you're both physically, spiritually, mentally and sexually compatible.
Love is an emotion with which different people seem to have different definitions. My belief is that true love, especially for those who have actually experienced true love, can not be defined.

But in all seriousness, I'm with Ragnorok; love can't be explained. I believe this partly because of the infinite varieties of expression and classifications and levels of love. I love my friends, I love my cat, I love my boyfriend, but they are 3 different kinds of love.
Some people love themselves, their families, their god(s), their country, there are so many things to love and so many ways to love. It's easy enough to say love is ''extreme like for something'' but I think there is more to it than that, some intangible force bigger than us all. [/cheezy]
In the very least, I believe it is more than a chemical imbalance.
Love, what with a partner, is wanting to spend every second together and never dreading. The addiction to them and wanting them to fill your life. Not stalkerish there is a thick like between my opinion of love and stalker.
Its being with someone even if you have been married for 30 years and you still get butterflies. The tickle on your skin every time they kiss you. When anything that remotely reminds you of them makes you smile. When looking at them melts your heart and makes you so thankful to have them. Someone that makes you feel like nothing can go wrong, when you're with them all your problems, big or small, just fade away, nothing left in the world just you and your lover.
That is my definition of love from my own experience with my fiance.
