The closest you can really get is developing an acute perception of body language and other tell-tale signs. Also, developing and practicing your empathy and connection with others helps you to get more in tune with being human, how a human works.

I suppose you could try scrying as well, but it would look a little awkward to whip out a crystal ball or mirror and start trancing-out lol.

Why not focus on understanding your own mind? ;)

Most of my familly is 'telepathic' but it's not literally hearing people thoughts, it's done exactly how Kikuyo discribed, through the study of body language, vocal intoneations, and the very small clues and developing empathy.

Yeah, I'm not telepathic, but I've had my experiences, but they were just strong vibes from people, or all of a sudden their thoughts popped into my head for a second
