Manifestations of Empathy

Hey everyone! :-) So im an Empath and I was wondering if it is possible for your Empathy to manifest so as to allow you to be able to sense the fears and desires of others. Is that possible? B/c I have been lately sensing others' true fears and wants. Is that normal? I feel quite dumb asking this b/c it probably is, but I just want a second opinion, or twenty-third. lmaoo :-D

That's pretty much a part of empathy. :)

Just try to shield yourself from unwanted emotions.

I very much agree with Bardou , shielding being your best bet otherwise you become overwhelmed by others emotions:)

Empathy in short definition is feeling the emotions of others. Now, your empathy has gotten stronger. It has increased to the point that you are able to feel those emotions buried deep in one's soul. It is normal. As the others have said, just build a strong shield/barrier to keep those unwanted feelings out. Personally, my empathetic 'tendencies', for lack of better words, make it where I myself feel whatever emotion the other is feeling. I myself become that emotion. But I have a strong barrier, so half the time I'm perfectly fine.

So, basically, Odins_Slave, you are saying that my Empathy has increased to the point where I can more or less see deep within a person's soul Empathically?

Basically, yes. But it only concerns those fears and desires most important to that person.

Hmmm, OK. And how might I be able to exercise/practice daily this increased Empathy?
