Why isn't this more known

I perfectly beleive in magic myself, but I've just started (found the site 2 days ago) and was just wondering, considering this IS real, why isn't it well known? I mean with people making fires, stopping wind, and all that, you'd think this would be very common...but it's not, sorry for sounding noobie I was just wondering :D

To believe and to be able to actually perform sometnig are two different things. And there are roleplayers too.
And the rest is afraid.

What do you mean roleplayers?

Roleplayers are just that, people playing a role. They think they are something like a vampire, werewolf, mermaid, etc. and try to convince others that they are becaues they believe it so truely themselves. Much of this is due to the media(eg movies like twilight, tv shows like buffy, angel and charmed, the list goes on), also some come from games like WoW, D&D, and such.

You'll find many a thread on here quite against RPers, mostly because they can't seem to understand this isn't an RP site and is instead for REAL magick.

Ultraotter there are many misleading things on this site, there are things that are absolutely unreal, I say that with confidence and the hope that you are not absorbed or dissolved by such falsities. What form of magick are you looking into.

Also, if you are new, I'm sure that most traditions will agree that Magic= stage magic preformed as an illusion by magician (like chris angel.)
Magick= spells cast by an actuall practicioner of the craft.

But thats a common mistake, it's nothing too big to worry about. Most people wont mention it, i'm just anal.

Also, magick is: "the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will" as Aleister Crowley puts it.

I think it's better to remain in secrecy or the world would be in constant turmoil

and the progression of the magical arts is still extremely new.. So it is up to us to evolve and to make changes try new things so we can pass it on to the next generation and maybe in a few hundred to a few thousand years maybe magic will be to the point of what you said.

How is magic new? Hasn't it been around a really long time? I haven't done too much research, but I didnt really think magic was 'new' seemed pretty ancient to me.
