I apologize for the noobish title, but I am excited and it seemed right at the time :P
So today, I went to a lovely forest near a quant pond on the search for fairies. I did this one other time before that day at a different forest and a few days earlier.
The first time was around noon. I did run into something that reminded me of fairies, but they were so small. The size of a fingernail and they were white and very transparent, but they had a body like a little human if you looked close. But I might have been dilusional. I was walking in the forest for atleast 3 hours. Then I went to a different forest at dusk and saw something amazing (this was also near a pond, but the forest itself was a lot easier to walk though).
I thought it was a moth. It have brown wings, but It jumped from tree to tree unlike a butterfly or moth. and I could hear it flutter... like a bird! I had to have been about 20 feet away! I was about 2 inches big. The wings reminded me of butterlies, but sorta like a dragonfly too. 3 other brown winged things were with it. It was over in an instant, but I really think they were fairies!

Next time you go into that forest take a camera! I don't know what it was you saw, but I can assure of one fact. Fairies do not exist.
Nor do vampires; werewolves; dragons; leprecauns; or zombies.
There is real magic in the world; and it can be found if you search properly.
Might want to get your facts checked, Brysing. Sure you may not see things in the physical realm, but fairies and dragons do exist (and depending on your beliefs, vampires may too, just not the fanatical stuff you read in books).
If you don't think Dragons and Fairies are real, why don't you talk to those in each of the paths specific to them? There are entire traditions, rituals, spells, celebrated holidays, and much more dedicated to them and they have been celebrated for well over a millennium.

Yes, I am old enough to have checked all the facts. I seek the truth, not myths and legends.
Millions of Catholics believe that bread and wine are changed, actually changed!, into the body and blood of Christ. It is a belief! Not a fact.
The bread and wine are a representation of the blood and body of Christ, not the actual blood and body (however, there is a belief that since everything was made from the Divine, Christians believe we are all a part of Christ himself).
Age and wisdom do not go hand in hand, so who are you to tell millions of people that their beliefs are simply folktales (and even when they have been practicing their paths for thousands of years)? You can have your own opinions, just respect others' as well.
One little fact that I love is that the word 'myth' comes from the Greek word 'Mythos', which means word. It's quite ignorant to scoff at something when you haven't experience anything with it. It's like a Jamaican saying snow isn't real. xD
Point is, you have your beliefs, millions of others have theirs. Don't shoot it down.
I respect that you have studied for many, many years. Takes lot's of dedication to do that. I just didn't like what you said, that's all. But I'm glad we cleared this up. :D
