Hey I'm not a council member or anything but I was in the chatter meeting last night and I stated a good suggestion and our priest told me to put it into our forums. My idea was that we could have a weekly email newsletter full of coven lessons, new members, coven events, and if people are going through a hard time and need somebody to talk to or something, they can write about what they are going through so maybe somebody in the coven will provide emotional support in yheir time of need. I think it would be really good because some people don't have time in their busy lifestyles to read all the coven articles after checking into the roll call so this way they could be more involved with the coven. It would also help us become more of a family than a group of strangers on the Internet. If you would like to add suggestions or ask questions about my idea than feel free to do so.
If it can get more members involved with the coven, it sounds like a good idea to me. Although our Priestess has been trying her best to come up with ideas that she believes would get others more active here.
I understand that some do have busy lives, but it's not like the coven articles are up for only one day. Our lessons and quizzes and posts are left for some time so that all can have a chance at reading them.
But if others agree with this idea, it's certainly worth a try!
This is a great idea Cjjohns as indicated in our chat with our Priest, Reaper. And, it is certainly worth a try Pwalls, provided that members take active role participating in our group. This is up to the Priest and the Priestess since they are doing most of the work and us benefiting from it.
Here's a thought and my opinion, if members have time to check emails and signed in the roll call, then members should take the time to scroll down and read what is posted in other threads. It's double work. Sending emails to what is said to be already posted in the forum. If members took the time to submit applications to become a member in this group, it's like agreeing to take an active role regardless of their busy lifestyles.
You are so right aileen. A coven is more than just simply checking in and signing you name to prove to others that you are in this coven. We are a family, we teach and we learn. For those who would like to learn, the articles are there for you to see.
I was reading a post from someone who didn't even know that his coven was no more. It was sad, since he only found out by reading the previous post. I hear of so many members complaining about their Priest/Priestess not being active in their covens.
We have a Priest and a Priestess who are trying their best for us, and members who are not stepping up and showing their support.
I could go on and on, but I really don't want to chew too many ears off. It just gets me upset, that's all.
You are sooo right about how our priest and priestess put a lot of effort into our coven. I really appreciate them and I recon you do as well. Anyways, you said that if people have the time to check their emails, they should also have time to read the threads. Well that may be true but in this mobilized world, it is much more convenient to get threads on email as well because a lot of people check their emails on their phones and portable electronic devices. I'm not saying that it makes people able to catch up on the coven, I'm just saying it's more convenient to us all. But thank you soooo very much for providing your opinion.
For the convenience, the Priest or Priestess should email each members in regards to individual threads that needed to be acknowledge or read. Understandable that in todays world everthing is mobilized. Again, we are back to, why did we even bother to submit an application for a group, when we cant even commit even an hour of our time to become an active participant to said group. Like I said, great idea. The question is, will members participate.

it is not a bad idea but like all the lessons and stuff is on the forum and there are vary few topics on the forum making it easy to find things so i think they are just not caring about the coven or just too lazy to scroll down a bit more to see them
I agree with everyone...i would be a good idea but some people are just too lazy to do the simplest thing like reading the forums... im a person who look forwards to reading them ^^
