Beginning a vampire

I'm thinking about becomming a vampire but I wanna know all the benefits and bad stuff about it. I'm not one to change who I am without having a good reason for it but it would be cool to be a vampire. Can anyone tell me the benefits about vampirism.

Ps: I'll also need to know how to become one. And dovampires really have red eyes?

why would you want to be energy deficient? What's wrong with being human? I mean seriously, vampires aren't that romantic sterotype that hollywood instills through movies. I don't get the attraction to being something that has to survive on others. Plus, to my understanding you have to actually be born that way, it's not that you can turn into one, unless you look into the vampire subculture, which is something completely different.

I agree with Silver. I dont understand what everyones fascination with becoming a vampire is. You dont get super strength, you can turn into a bat, or mist, you cant hypnotize people with your eyes. You wont all the sudden become this romantic being. Vampires dont exist in the way hollywood makes you think. Psi Vampires exist, yes. but blood sucking, red eyed, super strength, shadow lurking, transylvanian, coffin sleeping, pale, mysterious, romantic vampires do..not...exist. Yeah don't get the feeling I think that they are anything like in twilight or new moon. I just was curious and wanted to know a bit more about them. I was gonna try to be one but now that you say it like that I changed my mind. But I have no clue what a psi vamp is and I wanna know what it is. Can you explain it???

Since then, there have been movies, and TV series, about vampires. They are for entertainment! Vampires do not exist! Neither do werewolves, mermaids, and other such things, like superman, batman, and the incredible Hulk! Is there really a "big bird" living on Sesame Street? I think not!

I know another type of vampire, a spiritual vampire.

Vampires do exist, we just do not have super strength, speed, or immortality, and we dont sparkle in the sunlight, nor do we set on fire, although, most of us get sick and/or disoriented in the sun. There are two main types of vampire, psychic and sanguine, now those are not the only types, there are many subcategories, such as pranic, and psychic sanguine hybrids like myself. We are people born lacking with energy and have to feed off of people in one way or another to survive, so we get the name vampire. There is no spell or ritual to transform you into one, and you cannot be "changed" into one.

Well, actually almost all ancient cultures, from Greek to Egyptian have some concept of a blood drinking creature. The Babylonians have Lilith, the Greeks the Lamia and the Egyptians have the Goddess Sekhmet. Not to mention that the actual vampire myth can be traced as far back as the 17th century, or even the 12th century if you include revenants. This is clearly some time before Stoker's 1897 novel. All I'm saying is that the concept has been around longer than many civilizations, so it would be wise to not disregard it out of hand.

Brysing, your facts are a bit wrong, Dracula was not in fact the first vampire literature, around the time it was created, but well over 3000 vampire novels were created in that era, Dracula was just a common book of that era.
