Why would you wish to? If they exist, they have a reputation of being a bit ornery with humans. I live in a forrest with an artesian well, perfect conditions for Faeries, and the land is mystical, yet my little prayer to faeries and all other entitiys is If you leave me, and my home alone, I will protect you and yours and the land. On summer solstice I leave offerings of honey, milk, sometimes a little whiskey. I have never seen a Faery, but what the hell, I like to think maybe that energy is around. However, if they do exist, they can be a handful, and even destructive at times. Thus, my prayer. Rilke
I don't know of any rituals to summon them, but I suggest reading up on faery legends and try to draw your own conclusions about how to best attract them. They're supposedly highly intelligent and function according to their own sets of rules and morals, so in my opinion your attempt to summon them may not even get their attention.
I know a ritual to summon garden fairies to your garden, if you like it I can send it to you. They can actually be quite helpful in magic and they can also assist in the growth of your garden, of course you'll still have to tend it regularly.
I might of seen a fairy before but I don't know for sure becuase all I've seen is light moving which is what supposedly they are. But if fairies do exist then they could be trouble. Their are reports of people who have seen balls of light move in strange ways and then explode right in their living room. Although nobody has ever been hurt by these explosions everything around them is totally destroyed. So just be careful.
But if you do find a summoning spell please share.
Well, you accually don't "Summon" faeries. And besides, there nasty little buggers. But if you want to summon one, you should gain their trust. First off go outside and talk to them, their everywhere, and tell them your desires. Second, they love to dance. Put on some music and dance. They love cream and cake and especially mead. They will come if you put these things in your garden for them. Dont despair if they dont come around right away. Good Luck.
I'm totally with Brysing and Rilke... never seen one. But always thought of them as tiny, charming creatures flitting from flower to flower gathering nectar. Have always associated them with the likes of tinker bell, cinderella's fairy godmother (who I grew up to realise is a metaphor of cinderella's will).
The tooth fairy nonsense almost destroyed it for me until I decided to read up on them. And I discovered that universal law of duality, which applies to light and darkness, God and satan, angels and demons, good and bad, benevolence and cruelty, beautiful and grotesque, also applies to fairies as well.
Some theories suggest that fairies (good and bad), angels & demons, Gods and Goddesses are manifestations of our subconscious minds, grappling to make sense of the bewildering and often capricious forces of nature - to put a human face to the inexplicable yet powerful energy that surrounds us.
Alternatively, there are other theories which suggest that fairies are nature spirits, also known as elementals or in some cultures, devas.
And then there is the Christian belief regarding the origins of fairies, which states that when God banished the rebellious angels from Heaven, some fell on the land and became fairies while others fell in the sea and became mer-folk...(on a personal note, with offense to none, this one is a bit...erm... nevermind)
My take? To be honest, more than fairies, I'm totally hung-up on angels. Crazy as I sound, I've seen them, spoken to them, and have had several dream visitations as well. Now, whether they are manifestations of my subconscious mind or elemental spirits, who I've managed to bond with, I choose to evoke them or that part of my subconscious mind because of the healing/happy/peaceful/loving effect. I dont want to evoke a demon or the darker side of my subconscious mind, not because I think its wrong, but because it doesnt agree with me. And thanks to the universal law of duality, I have the right to make that choice... some call it free will.
So go ahead, call a fairy by all means, if you like. But with be absolutely one hundred per cent clear about who you want to summon or which part of your subconscious mind you wish to evoke and be prepared for the consequences.
