Afterlife

Now iwish to know few things. I have read some books concerning afterlife and i watched few documentaries. Here is one thing i dont understand. Do we "normal mortals" reincarnate after we die or not?
Some say we reincarnate and this is a theory that i am personally leaning too.(life is to learn, to spiritually advance and so on). And another one is from a documentary that i have watched and i want your opinions about it. It mentioned that there is a plane called Hades (like in greek mythology, and other cultures, but known by other names), where the dead go when they die. I dont know if all who died go there, but some do. Below that plane is hell (a very chaotic plane where Lucifer (one among many) resides).
Documentary also covered a theme of guardian angels and guardian demon. (in muslim religion there is a belief that at birth every man gets guardian angel and demon.) these 2 beings are couterparts. Whole point of High magic is getting close to your guardian angel, while a black magician makes a pact with Lucifer and another powerful demon whose name i forgot, to unite him with both angel and demon.
But what i really want to say is this. In documentary there was said that if we were to die today and go to heaven, the guardian angel would not put any effort to save us.
So what is your opinion from this confusing text?

No one knows what happens after we die. No one really knows if there is a heaven or hell. Every opinion you hear on the after life or lack there of is just that, opinion.

Some people believe we are reborn again and again as you have said. And some believe we go to some sort of after life. There are people who also believe that when you die you're done. You just cease to be. Then there are others who believe you just turn into another form of energy.

I think that what you choose to believe is your own choice and you are entitled to it.

Everyone else believes what they want so why not you?

Well, I honestly am unsure what happens when we die, and to that end I'm not very interested.

When I die, I'll find out what happens. Between now and then I'll move forward with the hope that certain efforts will be worthwhile. If not well then at least I learned something in this life and had fun. ;)

Well, like both has stated. Many has theories regarding life after death. Like in Christianity and Islam it's either Paradise or Eternal Damnation. You may have noticed too that in Egypt, people are buried with their material possesions as they'll lead the same life after death(though they have to 'weigh' their souls). I've seen that most that I have met(but not all) within this path seem to believe in the reincarnation theory. The whole "being familiar with one person at first glance" seems to work well with this theory and also the concept of pastlifes.

I'm not sure if I should add this, but Buddhists believe that karma can also play a role on life after death. You learn all your life lessons, you ascend to higher states, you don't and you keep incarnating till you learn them. Seems hectic to me :). Though I very much do believe in the theory of life after death, that we aren't really dead but just resting till we move on.

yes there are ONLY assumptions in every religion and in everyone's mind about what happens after we die... well here is one of mines what IF this is OUR after life and no one knows about it? What if we lived before and this world and dimensions are just games in the "afterlife" concept? What IF this IS the afterlife...?

Pretty confusing huh? Therefore live your life (death xD) and don't think about questions that can not be answered.

you cant be currently living afterlife, because our current state of being is called life, even if we are "dead". so after life comes after life.

Hahaha! Yoey here is the thing, we are all making an assumptions and yes after life comes AFTER the LIFE but... when someone dies he lives after his/hers death which means he is leaving a life (after death) but here we go again what IF we don't know IF we have lived before this current state of life? ha? tricky isn't it?

Rzr I'd like to take on that quote.
You see, that quote only proves the living on of a soul to someone who actually believes in souls.
Personally, I feel the "soul" is a concept, to resulting combination of different aspects of the human mind.
In my personal belief, the soul is not an actual thing that is all powerful and capable of existing on other planes blah blah blah...
It's literally just your brain, your personality, and personality in my opinion, doesn't come from this spirit inside you, it comes from your experiences and memories from growing up.

Now then, since the soul in my opinion, is just a concept, its energy is solely just that of which fuels the brain, therefore, when your body dies, that energy is circulated back into the Earth and into the cycle of life.
That energy is absorbed by other beings.

Those are my thoughts on that quote, seeing as how that's a scientific law, and using it to try and prove the carrying on of one's soul sounded very strange to me.

Anyway, this post pretty much explains my thoughts on death, although I'm basically where Neorsa is.
I don't particularly care what happens to us when we die, although I do think there is a very good chance that we just die, and get over it, but I won't know until I've experienced it.
So until I die, I'll just worry about live.
