Silver Ravenwolf

why do so many people "dislike" silver so much? i have searched around and read some articles about it but i wanted to see what your guys thoughts and feelings were on the matter.

I believe that many people feel that silver ravenwolf is too stereotypical and "fluffy" of a writer.

That her writings only show one very slanted point of view of magic, and tend to herd everyone away from even the benificial darker parts of the Work, and more towards the silly things we don't need.

I doubt I speak for everyone, but thats my impression of why she's "disliked."

I don't feel by any means that her books are comprehensive or the absolute bottom line in magic... but they are a good starting point if you are looking for an introduction to magical concepts. Especially if you only view them as such, and are looking to broaden your horizons elsewhere, after.

They are also great if you wish to be a typical, modern neo-pagan/eclectic wiccan.

I use silver as a energy lending metal. When you "over-load" it with energy it becomes a very powerful companion.

This is a topic that comes up frequently when we are discussing books and authors that we don't recommend. I thought it would be easier to simply point questioners to these links so they can understand why many of us have issues with Ms. Ravenwolf's books.

I think these sites cover pretty comprehensively why many in the Pagan community have issue with her books.
