Triple God?
By:

So I have been wondering this. The triple Goddess represents the passage of womanhood right? So what about the triple God? I have heard many different versions like, Youth/Warrior/Sage, Warrior/Father/Sage. And do they have certain rituals to go along with them?

Thanks and Blessed Be.

I was taught the male counterparts of the triple goddess are the warrior, father, and sage. The warrior is the young man as he is maturing and becoming an adult. He is associated with the dawn and morning light. The father is associated with the midday sun and is the adult man who is providing for his children. The sage is the wise old man who has lived through his years and is coming to the end of his mortal life. He is associated with the sunset and evening light.

Good post KTS. I was taught similar to that. There was also a tradition of an Oak God and a Holly God; Spring and Summer, Autumn and Winter. The belief was that that the Spring and Summer God, impregnated the Goddess, who then "slept" through the winter, and gave life in the Spring. But triad Gods of been thought of for many hundreds of years. Such as Isis, Osirus, and Horus. Even such as Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. The Goddess Brigit (Brigid) is a threefold Goddess.
