Hello all! I have a little problem. I am not sure if Christian-wicca is working for me. So I decided to pick one religion. I want to be a christian and go to heaven, and I want to be a wiccan and perform magick and live the spiritual natural life. I dont what to do! Any ideas or comments?
Who says you have to choose? Religion is what you make it, it's all about what you believe so if you want to be a witch me be a witch, if you want to be both be both. There is no set commandment in the bible out of the ten saying that you won't go to heaven. If you still believe in God and do what you love he can't blame you for that.
I agree with stoney. It's like trying to live different lives at different ends of the world. It just doesn't work. Being a christian witch is possible, but christan-wiccan is impossible. Also i don't understand your delema fully because i don't believe in heaven or hell.
Nothing in the Bible? Nothing in the Commandments? You haven't read it! "Thou shall have no other Gods before me". You can't get closer than that! By all means, as a Christian, you may use magic. Many Christians do; including Catholic priests every morning at Mass.
But witchcraft is something else!
You can be a Christian, and still practice magick and live the spiritual natural life. I do it myself. These things aren't mutually exclusive, what's the problem?
I vaguely remember that in the new testement Jesus said "The kingdom of heaven is here on Earth". For the life of me I cannot find where! To me this would mean that a spiritual and natural life would be in keeping with christianity. Christians do perform magick, (such as ritual, healing, and prayer), they simply have different language for it. Hope that helps you glue it together a bit :)
well its me jessus4ever and I am now a full wiccan and I love it! This is definetly the right religion for me cause now all my prayers get answered and I feel closer to the God and Goddess.
I really haven't heard of being both Christian and Wiccan. It's too confusing and impossible to accomplish, in my opinion. I understand you still have those Christian ideas, such as Heaven and Hell. Just because you're not Christian, doesn't mean you have to give up those ideals. Granted, you could tweak them to fit your true ideals.
As a former Christian myself, I never abandoned ALL of the beliefs from the Bible since they are similar to some Wiccan ideals. Commandments 6-10 are generally anything you can still believe, even if you're not Christian. They're common sense, since you are aware of the consequences if you break them, spiritual and legal. Although I believe the first one is a little selfish and conceited, I bear no real grudge against Jesus Christ. A Christian can still practice magick. A Wiccan can still read the Bible. There's no such thing as a "True Christian" or "True Wiccan." Whichever you choose, you can still have most or all the ideals you're used to. Just remember, converting is never easy. You may end up giving them up and letting new ones in. If you're prepared, then there shouldn't be too much problems.
