Can someone explain the rule of three to me? I'm not Wiccan, I'm a Pastafarian, but it just doesn't make sense to me. What's the origin? I personally like to trace things to their roots.
I'm also arithmetarded, but wouldn't the rule of three cause evil and good to be extremely unbalanced? Like, exponentially? I see a fair bit of both in other people's lives... I don't know.
The following opinions might tick some of you off, but I stand by them.
Though, I put my heart and soul in the world and I just get stomped on. I try my best to make everyone happy, and yet my own life is terrible.
This has lead me to research karma, and I have learned that it's actually the bastardization of an ancient Indian concept that is more closely tantamount to "cause and effect." (I found it in a book, don't remember which. It's hard to find online) It also means that, if you surround yourself with bad things, bad things will happen to bad people as a result.
Karma sounds kind of like dharma, but dharma doesn't come to you until your next life as a cow in an American slaughter house. (I personally don't believe any human comes back as a cow.)
That's why I don't believe in the modern concept of karma. I WANT to believe in it because I want to think that all of the good I've done will come back to me someday... but I've seen no evidence of this. It seems that good things only happen on the rare occasion that I play the bitch card. And I ~HATE~ doing that.
So how did karma and the rule of three come to be? It will bother me until I find out.
I have a great respect for consequences. Almost everything you do in life - when you are passive or active, angry or happy, young or old - will effect your surroundings. If you throw a big stone in the water, it will probably splash on you.
But I dont belive that if you do good things to others, you will always get good things back. You have to be smart and constructive to get what you want.
The nature cant see the difference between good and bad. Its better if you know what you want to attract in your life to make it perfect.
I dont belive in the rule of three. Its just a way to teach people to be careful of what they wish for - because it might come true! And the consequences are your responsibility.
I think karma reminds me of consequences, like " think before you act".

What ever you send out, will come back to you three fold. That's the law of three. It's exactly like karma. positive energy attracts positive energy, negative energy attracts negative energy
The fold law only applies in it to be honest. I personally don't believe in it. However cause and effect is something I do believe in and the laws of attraction. What you send out you will attract. But that's my idea of karma and not the idea of someone controlling what I may or may not do based on my actions. It's based on the golden rule of do unto others as you wish done to you, but it got twisted. It's simply in my opinion to teach you to be a better person and not based on actual karma. It's rooted in most early eastern tradition as Karma is what you determines what you'll be in the next life, but I don't really believe that either for various reasons and understandings of different things. This is all opinion however the Law of 3 folds is merely only if you believe in it.

I'm starting to understand now. Maybe someday I'll be able to believe that there's still good in the world. Maybe I'm not looking closely enough, or maybe I was destined for failure. Who knows.
Well hun it's about finding your own truths and making your own path rather than following the crowd. Accepting you could be wrong will take you far especially in Occult world. but welcome :)
Yes, as I've stated in another post, the rule of three does not make sense but karma does. Every action has and EQUAL and oposite reaction. Wher would the extra energy come from to make it three times as worse? Study the symbol of the oroboros. What goes round comes round.
Yes and no. If you do something it's going to effect something else. It's more of a ripple effect rather than a cosmic smack down. The powers that be are far too busy doing other things to worry about what someone does in the right now. Eventually it does catch up with you but not in the way people might think. Again this is all opinion.

Yeah, I've read about the ouroboros-- I used to be gnostic. I always saw it as the circle of life, and my dictionary says it means infinity. I've never read about it being related to karma. I just searched for that, but it sounds like a somewhat modern addition to me. (Wikipedia says middle ages) The ouroboros has been traced back to 1600 BCE, Ancient Egypt. I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced.
Completely irrelevant: I think I want a tattoo of a gyarados biting it's tail.
