Have any of you even been treated unfairly or threatened for being a witch, wiccan, pagan, druid or others?
Now I was in college and someone saw my pentagram ring I was wearing and they said to me 'You better not be a pagan' and he looked at me with his friends and tried to intimidate me. I replied ' I'm not pagan I'm just in touch with nature and God' which has some truth but I hate it when people gang up on you just for your beliefs. Now don't get me wrong I don't mind a fight but I hate a group of pussys that try to gang up on you?
I think most of them that hate on being pagan is because they dont understand what it realy is.Most have been programed to think that pagan means satanist, that we sacrafice little kittens or something like that. I live in the bible belt but i am honest about being pagan and will continue to be. i am proud of what I am and what i belive in. Its caused some issues for me but only because of others ignorance. In my oppinion if you are going to bash on someone for what they belive at least understand what they realy belive. And let people be free in thier belife instead of saying if its not the way you belive its wroung.
My one of my brother's has told me that I'm going to hell before. I'm Wiccan but I tell them I believe in evolution because they think witchcraft is evil and I don't want them spreading it around. He's told me twice thatI'm going to hell because I believe in science. Ridiculous right?
Totally I believe people are too closed minded to take into count others views on religion and value the bible too much cause it is man made, also you should believe in your heart what feels right for you
I used to spout the truth about it incessantly, thinking I was doing people a service. The simple fact of the matter is that when somebody has embraced their faith fully they will not turn away, and will only be irritated, angered, or otherwise impacted negatively by you telling them of a history or tradition that they believe to be wrong.
Better to simply avoid confrontation.
We do not have to be boisterous in our faiths, just as we'd rather that they would not be. Offer a few tidbits, see if they are receptive to "education," and move on if they are not.
I have lost count of the people who have seen my pentacle and thought I was Jewish! Ah, you will never convince somebody of your belief, if they believe something else!
