The idea that Lucifer is "evil" and is actually Satan who was once an angel and was driven from Heaven by St Michael, is just another of those Catholic myths! Lucifer actually means "giver of light".
Many years ago in England, a sulphur match was called "a Lucifer".
There are even the words of a popular song from WW1,
"While you've a Lucifer to light your pipe, smile boys, that's the style."
While it is true that Lucifer means 'giver of light' or even 'Morning Star', according to catholicism, he was titled satan after his fall. Lucifer was his name before banishment.
Darked, no offense but show me facts. That story is thrown around quite a lot and there is absolutely nothing writen in the past to support those claims. Your statement has just as much validity as the flying spaghetti monster.
I respect all people's beliefs but you speak as though youre explaining truth. Unless you have historical sources that state Lucifer = Satan it stands that your statement is a mistake in translation twisted into what is wrongly taught as "fact". Morning star, the same word used to explain Jesus further into the bible was describing a king, not satan. The story of fallen angels (not one named Morning Star, Lucifer, or Satan) is in the Book of Enoch which is not apart of the Bible. And is against traditional Christian belief to accept any truths besides those within the Bible itself. Catholocism's add ons are Vatican added "truths" which mostly are taken by Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greek religion (Paganism)
And as for any "hex" it is obviously a curse of some kind.
Lucifer is Eosphorus/Phosphorus, the morning star (Venus) which originates in Greek literature. The hebrew usage is exactly that, comparing the morning star to both the Babylonian king and Jesus in the Bible.
If it is not that meaning, than I would assume it was written by a satanist. They believe in the fact that lucifer is a "light bearer" therefore a symbol of knowledge and power. From my understanding luciferians go off of the Book of Enoch, which explains the angels who helped humans and were persecuted for it, much like poor Promethius when he brought us fire (knowledge) in the Greek myths. The rest is personal belief and varies from satanist to satanist. Neither explaination gives any sort of reason why it would be used as a "hex" which makes me believe it was an amateur's spell.
Obviously this wouldn't be a Catholic/Christian made hex because that would go against their religion on many levels.
The question is, where did you get this "hex"? And if you do not know its origin or effect, than you shouldn't be using it.
I think it is rude to call anything of this sort a "myth". You can not prove that your so called "lord and lady " exist can you? Yes, the catholic church has made up a lot of crap in the past. Especially regarding saints fighting Druids and things of that nature. Still, try and be more considerate in your replies.
WhiteRaven. I suggest you read the book of Enoch. It says nothing of the sort. It explains that the angels were punished for having intercourse with Hunan females and then teaching their monstrous offspring the arts of war.
Finally, I want to mention that angels do not have names. The names are in fact titles. For example, Raphael (healer of God) is a title and nor a name for that angel.
