hey guys, im starting on my herbalism book, that will have the complete magickal information on herbs, and also the medicinal value on the herbs. i was wondering if i should combine both of the books, and have it be one big book, or have it separate. i want to hear your opinions as i cant make up my mind! Thanks

The problem with herbs is that not all herbs grow everywhere! I have a book with all the British herbs, and their uses. But many of today's drugs and medicines come from herbs only grown in the Amazon rain forest! So by all means keep a book of herbs and their uses; just remember that the herbs you can obtain are only the ones in your own country!
I keep mine separate. In my useage, there is just too much info on one herb, and unless you really research the Doctrine of Signatures correspondences, the common thread between a plant's magical and medicinal properties can be vauge.
There are also so many different herb lore traditions. Hoodoo herbalism is quite different from Neo-Pagan herbalism for instance. You could keep a very full binder just on magical uses of herbs if you collect information from different traditions. Same goes with medical herbalism - Chinese herbalism is entirely different than Western biomedical herbalism.
I would just combine the two and have a section dedicated to each. It would also be a good idea to highlight or mark the herbs that are readily available to you in your area and those that you may need to have shipped to you.
In my book I have them separated by alphabetical order, magical uses, medicinal uses, and those that I can either grow myself or buy locally. I then have a section for those that I need to purchase over the Internet or from magazines.
You don't have to set your book up this way, but I'm a little OCD when it comes to things like this so I tend to get a little crazy with the organization of my books.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you may be able to ask your local plant nursery to order certain herbs for you. My father has a friend that owns a nursery here and he orders things for my father and then just has him come in and pick them up. I don't know if there are or aren't limits on what plants he can and can't get, but it's always something to look into.

haha i totally understand lon, i have serious OCD dealing with this. i am making "books" BOS whatever you want to call it in different books with different topics, divination, astrology, ext, and my "library" of books is so organized... when i didnt have space for a couple books that needed to go in, i couldnt fix it because it is built in to my wall and i flipped! haha
