Wow... really? A WAND? Should have named yourself harry, at that point.

As to any books for beginners, you might actually try reading some of the forum posts that are locked to the top of a given list. Those will probably be more helpful than any books I've ever seen, since most of them are written either by people with no magical inclination at all, or simply by people with no ability to convey their intent.

Aleister Crowley is a good one to look into. Definitely worth the time.

I have several suggestions for you since you are new to magical practice. You might want to try these:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman
"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar
"Modern Magick" by Donald M. Kraig
"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

I agree with what ZariusCorten said. Many of these modern day authors cannot completely be trusted. Many of the things they write are either fiction or modification of someone else's work. And although books of authors such as Aliester Crowley are great, they are not a good place to start from. So it would be best for you to do your research and master the basics which are provided on this site. It will help create a strong foundation for you and then you will be able to see and distinguish for yourself what is rubbish and what is not.

Zarius, a wand is a fine tool. Try not to mock beginners, it's somewhat inelegant of you.
