Now. You probably don't want to hear a theory from a idiotic 14 year old but I may have something you would be interested in reading.
Well, I was thinking about my typical arguments with Christians.
them: "Well, how can you not believe in hell. I mean, what about demonic posession?
Me: " I believe in demons just I think of them as negative spirits."
Them: "Well what about excorsims"?
me: " I hope you realize that tins of other religions such as budhism, islam, hinduism, and many other religions have excorsims that actually work".
So I thought about having a theory:
Could exorcism just be something that uses extreme faith and belief and not religion?
Also: I had a feeling that when I was younger I wanted to be a christian wiccan. Then I forgot about the belief in hell and how it doesn't exist. Truth is, I only wanted to be a christian wiccan because I didn't want to go against god and then fall into hell. Do you think others are christian wiccans because they cant release that feeling that hell could be real?
PLEASE, do not take this the wrong way. I never intended to offend anyone. I'm sorry if I do. Please understand.
No, your completely right. The basis of "religious magic" is faith. In fact, all magic is based on faith. The only reason spells work is because we believe they'll work.
Having been born into the catholic religion, I can say the rituals in the church are very pagan based, remember the church adopted many rituals to attract the masses who were polytheistic, and either pagan or druid, or wiccan. I think that exorcisms are based on a very powerful faith in what you are doing. Spells are by their nature extremely influenced by the casters belief system, the more you have faith in your spells the better they work.

Exorcisms in Catholicism is considered "Catholic magic" by many. Religious ritual and magick ritual runs hand in hand. Just because some religions frown upon witches doesn't make them any less guilty of using magick. If you ever notice, it is "witchcraft" that is supposedly evil. No where does the Bible say magick is evil. If it did, it would be condemning Jesus, Moses and any saint that proceeded them.
Catholic masses are nothing but magick. It was actually considered "holy magic" in the renaissance times and this was seen as acceptable. If you look into Hermetic magick you'll find much of the same archetypes and prayers that are Kabbalist/Jewish/Christian based, as is seen in the well known LBRP. Gnosticism is also a magickal path in relation to Christianity.
You'll find that most of the symbols and tools used by Pagans today are held as so sacred because they have been cherished and maintained by the Catholic church for hundreds (thousands?) of years.
This is true of the Pentagram, the chalice... so on, so forth.
I have been to a few churches that actively utilize the energy gathered in Mass, and it is somewhat alarming. But then the people running those churches were sketchy at best.
Your theory is very sound, logical, and reasonable. I mean exorcisms are performed not only by different religions but different denominations of those religions which believe at least slightly different. It is likely more to do with energy and faith rather than a specific religious belief like magick as many people believe different things but achieve the same goals.
Do you think others are christian wiccans because they cant release that feeling that hell could be real?
This one line could be taken negatively, but I won't take it that way. I'm A Christian Wiccan I guess and I personally believe that to be true, partially. If one ever believed hell existed in the first place, truly believed, I doubt they could just get rid of that belief but another thing is you can't believe in heaven without hell and I want to believe in heaven. I at the same time ask the aid of pagan gods. Now that may seem sacrileges or wrong but I'm not thinking that I'm actually asking another god for help but the aspect they represent. For instance I've asked Athena for aid when a test was coming up and I was trying to cast a spell to improve my absorption of knowledge because she's the Greek goddess of knowledge and wisdom, I've asked Hecate to empower my spells because to me she represents magickal energy itself, etc... Anyway I'm not just a Christian Wiccan because I want to avoid hell because I tell people sometimes that I may burn for my sins I'm not able to ask forgiveness for, but I have hope I'm wrong and I'm overly dramatic. Either way I do want to avoid eternal punishment, but the opposite is what I really want to experience and not just to avoid the pain.
excorsim just takes strong spiritual power. doesn't matter what faith, as long as your spirit is strong.
perhaps some are, but i remember looking into being a christian wiccan when i was starting out, because it isn't god i don't believe in, but jesus. i decided after farther research, chatholisism in general isn't for me. a fear of hell was never in my mind. i've never feared death nor hell, and i was raised in a town of christian extreemists.
