Magick is not hereditary. Raise the child with the craft. That is the only way you are going to "give it power".

magick is so hereditary, i am a 7th generation blood witch. but if your ancestors were not born witches or practiced their entire lives i agree you will have to raise the child with the craft.

We are all born with the abilities and some of us learn to use it at an early age,others get back into it after a while. As was stated raise the child wiccan, pagan, or what ever you wish, but as I did with mine they were given the choice when they were teenagers with some cognitive skill sets to make their decision. In the long run we all go to the universal source as far as I am concerned. Good luck and blessings.
