Hello So I recently purchased a tarot deck, but I do not understand how to use them.
I have attempted a couple readings but I can never make sense of the cards.
If anybody could give me some tips it would be fantastic!

Discover the connection you have to the deck. Even each individual card of the deck. Decks tend to have a guide book that comes with them that tells you the meanings of each card. Some times the booklet will have some examples of spreads to use and a description and example of how the usage of the spread. Not all decks come with a booklet. If yours doesn't, you can look up a basic description of the meanings for each card. And in such a case you can also look into finding various spreads and studying them. Each placement have different purposes, such as the question in mind, hinderances, involvement of people, and many more. And just like the placements have different purposes, so do the spreads. You don't necessarily have to follow the general meaning of the cards or follow the general purpose of the spead and placements. Many tarot readers who have good experience in this art may say that as you grow stronger in your readings and the connection you have with your deck grows you will accumulate your own personal meaning for the cards, as well as the spreads and the placements. You may even come to the point of making your own spreads. Know that this is a form of divination that will take time,effort, and practice to get better at practicing. When doing a reading you could do it by a specific question being asked or by a general reading of nothing specific save for the person the reading is being done on in mind. Just know that this is not a practice to be answering yes/no questions. Nor can you tell some one a specific name of a person or place. You can give an idea of who or what or possibly where. But just an idea. Just study your deck, study spreads, study on the practice it self, practice, and do things naturally as best as you can.
First of all, learn what the cards mean. What does it mean when the 'death' card comes up ? It's not always bad. It could mean change,it can mean the end of one thing and the beginning of another. What does one card mean when it is in conjunction with another ? Some cards have pictures, sometimes the cards 'use' the pictures to get a message across to you ( the cards meaning may not represent what you 'thought' it was) Once you get 'in touch' with your cards you will see that they will respond.........
