I'm new to magick, wiccan, and such.
Does anyone have any books/websites that are reccomended for newbies like me?
For books, I only want those that are found in the library, I don't wanna spend all my money on books.
While I do not study Wicca myself I rely on Silver Ravenwolf's books when I have questions about it. She has many books out most of which should be available at your libarary (they are here in texas so would think they would be everywhere!) I would suggest starting with Solitary Witch: The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation (2003) Llewellyn Publications ISBN 0-7387-0319-2, ISBN 978-0-7387-0319-0.

Please don't read fiction for magick.
For an internet resource I suggest
http://www.sacred-texts.com/bos/index.htm
From that, key articles for newbies:
http://www.sacred-texts.com/bos/msg0003.htm
http://www.sacred-texts.com/bos/msg0001.htm
http://www.sacred-texts.com/bos/bos192.htm
And as for books, Sanders and Gardner would be for Wiccan studies.
But be aware, Wiccan is a religion, not everyone who practices magick is Wiccan. If you don't believe in the religion, you can practice magick with whatever beliefs you already hold.
Books on magick really depends on the path you wish to go down. For newbies I always suggest Cunningham, because he is easy to understand. Once you get past the basics, you should have an idea of the path you want to take, and then other books may be suggested.
In general, yes, but the specific Ravenwolf book suggested is actually pretty good. For being both a beginner book and freaking huge I'm willing to forgive the relatively small number of errors.
... But yeah, as a rule you should avoid Silver Ravenwolf. I know the way she writes is easy to understand and can come off as charming, but her information is sort of like the McDonald's of the Wiccan world.
Huh I'm glad to know this. As I said Wicca is not something I believe in or follow but she is what i've used as a reference... now I know to look elsewhere
Is Silver Ravenwolf really that bad? I mean i have seen some of her books in the book store. But never really concered bying any of them. I looked at them not bad but really didnt seem much info on her books.
The books I suggested even though fiction are good. It's about the elements with a twist of fiction in them. A fun way of learning about the elements. You can't say its bad before if you haven't read it.
Yes I know some of the things they do is not true and impossible.
