I know the question seems rather fluffy-ish, but i just want you all to know i am being serious here.
Okay, so i have been fascinated in spirits ghosts and such for quite some time and would really like to see one. I can feel presences and such all the time- my bedroom is a general cold spot along with the main hallway leading up to and slightly past it (it connects all the main rooms). I know for a fact that there used to be a ghost in our house that would patrol the house but mum and dad haven't seen him for over 5 years. I would really like to increase my chances of seeing one but i don't know how i would go about doing that. Or is it something that you are born with and cannot be achieved through practice. It's not fluffy at all to want to see spirits/ghosts.
First of recognize that you're a spiritual being with a human experience, not the other way around, and that you have a natural affinity to see spirits and ghosts.
I'm sure most children see ghosts/spirits, but repress the ability due to social conditioning rather earlier in their life. I certainly did, because one's ignorance can certainly cause a lot of fear. I suggest building your self-confidence, and eliminating any fears you have. Fear will attract lower entities that feed off of it. That being said, what you put out is what you receive. Meaning if you're fearful you will encounter fearful beings; if you're lustful you will encounter lustful beings; if you're loving you will encounter loving beings. Keep that in mind, as it is very important. Knowing this, you may determine you might need to know yourself better and do some character building.
Furthermore, the spirit world is huge, some may say infinite. The fear of the unknown is pretty strong. How do you overcome this? Seek help from a higher power. Depending on your belief system and/or religion this will vary. Personally I put total trust in the Goddess Kundalini, which is the: creative, feminine, nurturing force of the universe. I totally surrender to her, because she is infinitely more wise than me, and knows the best for me. But trusting and surrendering to a higher power might not be enough, so I suggest asking help from Arch Angel Michael:
Michael to the right of me,
Michael to the left of me,
Michael above me,
Michael within me,
Michael all around me,
Michael, with your flaming sword
of cobalt blue, please protect me.
Of course you may want to use your preferred protection spells/techniques.
Next, I suggest working with your chakras, as they will all play a role in communicating/sensing spiritual entities/energies. But I'm not going to into that because that would make this post so much longer. So get some books on Chakras, and maybe some on meditation.
Raising the Kundalini, results in Clairvoyance and seeing spirits (this is how I developed my Clairvoyance). If you wish to go down this road, you can't turn back. I suggest reading Kundalini - Yoga for the West by: Swami Sivanada Radha.
Next start to meditate, choose your preferred technique/body position. I prefer sitting in my bed, closing my eyes, paying attention to my breath, letting thoughts flow through my mind (but not clinging to any), and finally clearing my mind. Make sure you're able to clear your mind and relax your body, with your preferred technique. I like to meditate in the dark or with a blind fold.

Then open your eyes (in a dark room) and try to absorb everything happening in the room. Look at the room in its whole entirety, with a loose gaze (don't look at anything specific, use your peripherals, notice your whole vision). Now try to do the same thing, but with your eyes closed.
We all see spirits/energies with our mind's eye/third eye. You can see spirits/energies with your eye's open, because your mind's eye overlaps said vision. It's just harder to see with your eyes open because of light and visual distractions.
Signs of early development:
-Seeing Prana/chi (looks like a blanket of translucent/shiny/golden sand over everything you see, you will eventually notice different concentrations and flows)
-Auras
-Outlines of beings in Prana
Further Signs of Development:
-Seeing orbs (of various colours, shapes, sizes)
-Seeing masses (of various colours, shapes, sizes)
(Orbs will may be see in collecting together or in singularities)
(Orbs almost always will be seen with masses, with my experience)
-Seeing flowing energy (of various colours, shapes, sizes)
Sorry to interupt but Holven you said signs of early development involved seeing a blanket of what looks like translucent sand over everything. I could see like that ever since i could remember. It is not gold though. But I have also been told it was just a problem with my eyes. Would this mean I am an early developer or not?
I don't know if this counts as a blanket or like what the other person said an eye problem, but i see a sort of screen, almost, over wherever i look. Its a bit like a T.V screen when its lost connection but a lot thiner/finer and it creates a layer before everything i see. It's almost, heavier when it's darker in the morning and night when the curtains are closed and its dark, but it's still thickish when i use lights with the house but, again, the 'blanket' so to say, becomes thiner if i light a candle because i think it's natural the natural light that makes it hard to see. Let me know what you think of that please- is it that blanket thingie, or is it my eyes :S. Thanks in advance,
To be honest it's not that uncommon. Seeing Prana won't let you do anything special with it in regards to psionics or spell casting. Don't let your heads swell up too much. ;) It's just a sign that your third eye is a little more active, and that you are on the right track. I still suggest meditation (you should never stop), and the rest that I suggested previously. You've got your foot in the door, keep up the good work. You should get excited once you start seeing white orbs in your peripherals, then you're on the next stage.
