The Akasha

The pagan pentagram has five different points. The bottom four stand for the more well known elements earth, air, fire, and water. But what about the top one? It stands for the fifth element, spirit, or "Akasha." It is the force that resides in everything. It is the creator of the other four in the beliefs of many. One way to think of the five elements is with a person to represent it. Your arms and legs are very important, but what are they without your head? The Akasha is the force that controlled other forces, the God and Goddess in traditional Wicca are thought of as two parts to the same thing, right? That thing, that allmighty force, is the Akasha.
I hope this article helped some people out,

It has meanings in Hinduism too, as well as several other religions. Wikipedia has a page on it.

Traditional Wiccans do not necessarily view God and Goddess as two parts of a whole. Traditional Wicca is very much an experiential religion where how one perceives the Divine through personal interaction with it is more important than any dogma as to the nature of the Divine. So you may indeed who feel that God and Goddess are part of a single unknown whole. On the other hand you may find some who feel that each Deity is a separate entity unto itself. Or even that the Gods are simply Jungian archetypes and not Divine beings at all.
