nightmare protection??

hi everyone :)
I was wondering what would be the best spell to protect ones self from nightmares? I have these about once to twice a week for the last sixteen years. I have looked through the spells on here and just want people's opinion on which one or one/s would be best to use :)
Thankyou all

i've never had to cast one myself, i feel dream catchers work. my friend tends to make them for me, and they always work. another option is aromatherapy. some scents help you have certain dreams. my friend makes dream pillows, mullein prevents nightmares, catnip or chamomile will help you have a peaceful sleep. you can stuff a pillow with a couple herbs and this special wool [don't know the name] or you could take a few drops of the essential oil and drip it onto your pillow.

There are many factors leading to nightmares, for example: your energy, thoughts, worries, events and different people you meet during living your life , tragic and stressful events, depressions, bad thoughts and memories in your subconscious, constantly eating unhealthy food, hormones etc; and whether on a conscious or subconscious level ( it happens a lot to the younger folks when they watch horror movies). What goes on with you / your emotions and factors in your life can have a big influence in your dreams as well.

can be less clueless about the subject. Trust me, it helps when you give a minimal effort for making a little research you may start the process of trying to stop your nightmares.

After you read and learn about what causes your nightmares - stop doing the thing that disturbs your sleep.
Try to clear your mind, stop having a negative thinking, do not drink heavy drinks and do not eat heavy meals.
Simply avoid all of the things that disturb your sleep and cause you to have nightmares.

Meditate to clear your mind, if you have any form of depression and stress try to get over it. Meditation is relevant to solve this kind of thing as well.

It is recommended if you feel any form of negativity around you which might be the thing that causes your nightmares. Banish any negativity or malicious spirits, make a house cleansing (for all of the rooms you have). tourmaline or hematite and amethyst are are recommended to use to avoid negativities.
I also recommend to learn making a dream catcher and a simple dream pillow (you can simply put tourmaline or hematite and amethyst under your pillow). Also, lavender is a herb which is relevant to banish negativities.

Also just telling other people about nightmares can also help a great deal to get rid of them. Talking things out helps a lot. You get rid of a lot of negative energy when doing that. Before you go to bed remind yourself it's just a dream that you might have and to help fill your head with happy thoughts try reading a book. One or two chapters a night, just enough to get the ideas of the book in your head and push out all the negative energy and your fears away.

That's all what I had to say about this subject.
But I know myself, I always forget to cover some things and my memory always misleads me :P

So Let me google this for you and get you a lot of informative articles about it :

If I were you, I would smudge my room, burn some frankincense before I go to sleep, and hang a Sweetgrass Braid above my bed. Always works for me... Plus Dreamcatchers. If you can make your own, that would be best.

Dreamcatchers are honestly the best option in my opinion. Also, I've heard from a friend that there is a tea called dream tea that you drink before you go to bed and it ensures peaceful dreams. I've never seen it, so I'm not sure if it works, but it might be something worth looking into. As said above, dreaming pillows are also useful.

Merry Meet!
Thank-you all so very much :) All your answers were very good :)
This is something i've struggled with since i was around 8 years old. They are pretty much the same kind of thing, people i care about dying, bodies in abattoirs, mutilation etc if you get my drift. it was really hard for me at first, took until i was 17 to be able to tell my nightmares and reality apart as my dreams were so vivid and life like.
think i will give the dream catcher another go,as everyone recommended it. thank you all for your opinions!
i might also try the amethyst under the pillow, and look up the dream tea mentioned :)
Im thinking a combination is the go with it all, as i've tried pretty much everything i could already.
Thankyou all once again!!

I would use a dreamcatcher, they work wonders they do! I find that if i ever have a "nightmare when the dreamcatcher is up, it is of some importance and had to be viewed, or the dreamcatcher if "full". The easiest way to clean adreamcatcher is by letting it sit out in pure sunlight for a day. I hope this helps,

'Willow :)

I drink tea before bed almosy every night and have Dream catchers hung around my room. I almost rarely ever have nightmares. I also keep a bag of charmed stones in a black pouch under my pillows.
