You can choose a group to pray to or you can meditate and wait for them to come to you. I personally waited for mine to come to me, but many people simple choose what feels right.

If you are talking about being a Wiccan and wondering which Deities to pray to then I would begin as most of us did by using the generic form of Lord and Lady to represent the God and Goddess. When we are new to Wiccan practice we may not yet feel drawn to a specific Deity, but praying to or calling upon the Lord and the Lady is perfectly fine. These are the generic titles for the Horned Lord and the Triple Goddess.
Later you may find that you are drawn to one pantheon or another, or that a specific Deity is making themselves known to you. But there's no rush to reach that point. So my suggestion is to start with the generic for now and know that even by using simply the titles of Lord and Lady, your words are reaching Their ears.
Wonderful advise. Gods and Goddesses are so numerous it can be overwhelming. our coven started with the lord and lady, the earth mother Goddess and God, and we moved on to include the moon and sun, Isis and Amen, and then from there we began praying to the old Gods of ancient Egypt, Rome, Sumerian, Celtic and so on. We may pray to a Goddess of Abundance from 7 different cultures during a wealth spell. But overall we always address the God and Goddess as one, divine energy and being that is everything. Your advise was spot on.
It usually comes to you naturally, it's kind of a pull that you feel, like if you have a major interest in a certain god/ess, it's most likely the one that belongs to you.
