I would like to take this time to introduce something that I have come across on the realms. I call it Soul Form. I hear about people asking can I become this or can I become that. Well on the otherside you may already be something.
When the Tree of Life or God began putting life on earth, everything was given a soul. That soul held onto that form. This was a time when dragons walked the earth and faeries played along side humans. On a hunch I put this time ending near sometime between 500 AD and 1100 AD. Some may argue that it happened before that and some after. To this I say that the veil may have fallen at different times in different places. Regardless it did fall and it did separate us from the astral. But not all the way. Our soul isnt an organ like a heart or a kidney but it is still our very core.
When we pierce that veil and travel to the otherside we retain our form. If it is human then it is Residual Afterimage. This means we are used to our bodies and our mind simply puts that image overtop of what we really are. Some see themselves as wisps. While they may be wisps, I find wisps to be somewhat rare. Rather I see this as some kind of visualization. Example: I want to see this so I see this. But some of us see something entirely different. We may see ourselves as the Zero Chicken or the Wolf or a Fairy with wings. In my experience most people are sealed, fairies or elemental of some kind.
Soulsight is the ability to pull the curtain that separates a person from what they are to peek and find out. It takes a great deal of dual meditation and cant be done without the person physically and psychically present (and not traveling). You peek around the veil and see what they are. Some questions can be asked to get more of a confirmation of what you see.
IE - I came upon a person, a Wiccan, who asked me to look. At first I thought I was looking at the stay puffed marshmallow man. But then I realized it wasn't marshmallow but ice cubes. Through a series of questions asked of the peeked-at, I was able to confirm that I was talking to an ice elemental.
The sealed. When looked at with soulsight these people appear to be a lock. I see an actual padlock. These are the closed minded. They actually seal themselves from the other side. Those that don't believe apparently can't go astral. *shrug* makes sense i guess.
The spirit collectors - These kind of appear as a line of souls when peeked at. Each spirit is one the person carries with them and can appear differently at different times. Unless possessed with extreme mental fortitude, these people often go crazy thinking they hear voices or have some form of multiple personality disorder. These people can actually allow the spirit to take over and 'drive' and do different things with spirit. I have found that the person being peeked at already knows this and usually have some idea as to what they are already.
Point of note- I have not come up to someone who was suprised to hear what I had to say about what they were.
The soul carriers seem to be some form of punishment for souls that have screwed up in a past life. A prison as it were, stuck in a body doomed to watch it through the human's eyes. The true soul of this person is usually a meek quiet person.
I have also come across a being that calls itself a split soul. And when peeking found I was looking at two different people. This when the two souls either limit or bolster each other.
Fairies- Usually distinguished by the wings, fay like nature and several other key features. Pixie dust, antennae, alternative color skin, fairy like clothing, etc. Look at one of these types is like looking at a Brian Froud page. Some questions used to determine what they are: Do you like to dance, even or especially when you are alone? Do you revere life? Are you emotional or wear your heart on your sleeve?
Elementals - These are always fairly obvious. A mountain that moves, fire that dances, a bunch of ice cubes that move together in a humanoid shape, etc. What questions to ask depend on what element you are facing.
Things I have not encountered: angels, demons, undead and elves. I know they each exist I am just not sure if they have a human form.
Determining what you are: First ask if you believe what all I have said. You don't have to and if you do, then what you are will probably come easier then what you think as your unconscious mind already knows.
Second: Be prepared for the answer for once you find out, you will forever take this form when traveling. This isn't as hard as you think.
Third: Requirements - experience astral projection first. Without having already experienced it then this entire article, idea and belief will get you nowhere.
Fourth: Perform a visualization ritual. Put a mirror in front of you and look at yourself (you don't have to be skyclad but I think it would help). Now just look for a while. Close your eyes slowly as you stare. If you see a curtain then simply visualize you reaching out and looking around it. I am going to stop here and tell you that if you don't see a curtain then you have not yet succeeded. Also keep in mind that this is done with a mirror image and that you are looking at yourself.
One More Thing! This is your soul we are talking about. Don't tell people what you are. Ever. I mean it, especially a summoner, conjurer or someone who deals with soul magic. Its like handing them the remote to yourself. This is a belief system, but still a system of beliefs called Soulform.
No. I have never heard it referenced anywhere. This is something entirely new. *shrug* But so far it has not been inaccurate. This was something I discovered about 10 years ago during a deep meditation. I have been working to perfect it and wondered if anyone had any thought on it.
My path teaches a some what simalar idea. And I would like to discuss this with you further. But two things that I would like to point out
1. Souls/spirit bodies are metaphsyical so to see them we use our 3rd eye. Now we should be carefull when obsevering the spiritaul body of a person as the 3rd eye is subject to inaccurancy do to wishfull thinking. Im not saying its not possable to use the 3rd eye accuratly. It clearly is, people should just take that into concideration.
2. You mentioned that we pierce the veil when we astral project. We do not, to go through the veil would require our physical bodies to become metaphysical. People have a physical and metaphysical body at the same time. When we AP we are just attuneing ourselves with our metaphysical/spiritaul body.
I agree and disagree. Yes and thats why you ask questions related to what they are for accuracy purposes. Its not an exact science, but that person will know because they are already that thing, unconciously. this is best not used on the young and/or impressionable. And there are some you cannot see, those who will not let you see and those who hide. Not everyone is as easy as *peek* i see you, only the sealed are (its kind of like having a door slammed in your face kind of feel). Even looking at the same person over and over doesnt make it any easier then the first time you did.
When I refer to pierce the veil I mean in the metaphysical sense. In my opinion/magick your spirit has to travel through (pierce) the veil to get to the astral plane. But I can see what you are saying about attuning to the spirit of the planes. There is also the possibility that it may work both ways for different people, some whose souls reside on the other side and some who reside within their own bodies. Good to hear your view thanks.
