What are tarot in your own words and experience? Is it a hobby, something you do for living, or something that you enjoy? Do you use tarot to talk with the divine, to make important decisions, a personal journey, or to help others?
The reason why I'm asking this questions is that tarot can be use in many ways not just for divination and personally I use tarot because it is something that I enjoy. I use tarot to help me write a story when I get writer block. I also use it when I need insight in a situation that I'm in.
I do use them to give readings as well but I'm starting to realize that I don't use them for divination because in all honestly I don't want to know the possibilty of my life or where it is going. I rather just enjoy the moment instead of worrying so much of what's going to be ahead of me.
That's what I learn from my experience with tarot. Some may not agree with me but that's alright. We all have our own different opinions as well as experience when using tarot.
The Tarot.... to call it a hobby is to not do it justice. It is a friend to me. It helps me see the light when I am sitting in the dark. When I have troubles it helps me find my way out. When I can't concentrate I simply shuffle my cards and I can. Tarot is a personal friend that has helped me talk to the divine, helped me on my journey through this world, helped me help others, and as said before helped me see light when I was in the dark. Tarot is in simplest words one of my greatest friends and guides.
Well said guide. Tarot is my one true love. My passion. My addiction. I love everything about it from holding the cards to the different voice each deck has. They tell me everything I want to know and everything I don't. I offer readings on here simply be cause I love to read them.
I typically use my tarot skills as a guidance/consulting tool. I take what they have to offer in consideration of the fact that I have my own free will, and that nothing is set in stone. They're a great comfort, both for myself and my clients, but they can get addicting... usually, I refrain from consulting them too often when it comes to trying to divine outcomes, but I do frequently turn to them for guidance and better understanding of current situations and underlying problems.
While I do use the Tarot for guidance and advice, I use it more for meditation and what is known in the G.D. as "traveling in spirit vision". I als make frequent use of the cards for pathworking on the Tree of Life.
Tarot for me isn't a hobby nor a way of life, i just simply use it to help others, the deck I use it came to me just pop out and from there, people started to came at me with problems and i just help them. But I can say that I love doing it, it gives me a nice feeling helping people without expecting anything in return.
Tarot is the qabalistic journey of the fool through the major arcana, reflecting all of the major archetypes of life. Ones relationship with it only deepens with time, somewhat like peeling the layers of an onion.
It can be like a guide, or a set of possibilities given discrete courses of action. It can be a simple reflection of the current motive.
As well as using the tarot for divination and sometimes spirit communication, I sometimes use the cards in spells on my altar as a focus for specific intention or energy type.
