Ending a spell

After doing a spell is there something I should do to end it or if using candles once the candle is gone is that it done

Generally if you are using a candle as the focus of the spell you are doing, once the candle burns out the spell is complete and should be working.

You should be able to just command it to end. You casted it, after all, so it is your creation that you have control over.
