This post appears to have been taken from an internet site which had copied it from an article by Edain McCoy that was published in Llewellyn's 1997 Magickal Almanac.

If you are going to copy and paste an article, or copy an article from a book, please be sure to cite your source. To do otherwise is plagiarism, which is a violation of the TOS of this site.

I will also point out that Edain McCoy is a very unreliable author. There is no evidence that the Celts named their moons for trees. Furthermore many of the ingredients in these potions would not have been available to the Druids. Just another example of made up lore.

I am aware that ogham is and has been linked to trees and dates . Like my birthday 1sr of march falls under Nuin which is the ash tree . The ash tree has many different qualities . I did a post about it in neo-druidry.

I agree with lark that there is no evidence that the druids called the moons after trees .

And anyways , if they did you'd think they'd have some form of the tree in the tea at least? To allow the internal connection to take place? It's all right and dandy to add other herbs to aid in taste , herbalistic aid to heal and even to help be digested .
