I'm hoping you can help me all my life i have been interested in witches spells crystals etc i have quite a few spell books that i bought when i was younger and i still like it all now, but i was just thinking with all them things in place can i become a Wiccan or do i have to go on journey or what? to be honest i am confused
Well, let me say that whatever path you pick will be a journey. And, its the journey that makes it fun and worth it.
It sounds to me that you've been given a few hints in your childhood. However small or large the hint is, its up to you to recognize it. Having an interest in the spell books should be a good indication that you were directed to witchcraft. But, i think once you start reading about the different paths, you'll know what feels right for you. You'll have a strong interest in one thing over another. Since you mentioned crystals, maybe you should start with elemental magick and see if that interests you.
Good luck on your journey, and everyone here is here to help.
Wicca is not necessarily witchcraft or even the practice of using magic. Wicca is both a lifestyle and a pagan-based religion. Typically what makes a witch Wiccan is living by this lifestyle and taking on specific Wiccan beliefs. Examples would be practicing magic while keeping the 3 Fold Law in mind along with other aspects of the Rede. You can try adopting a Wiccan specific or other complimentary deity as your patron(s). Try keeping in mind dedications to these doctrines, rituals and Pagan celebrations are a good way to begin. Research what I've mentioned and other essential factors that go into being Wicca. You could also try getting involved in the massive Wicca community by attending events such as circles and festivals. Interaction with all ready established Wicca will certainly help you.
In my opinion, if you are asking whether you are Wiccan or not...then you are not Wiccan.
That's not to say that you could not become Wiccan if you wished to. But it's important to understand that Wicca is a very specific religion with specific beliefs and practices. You can read more about the core beliefs of Wicca at http://www.spellsofmagic.com/read_post.html?post=248610 One becomes Wiccan by deciding that they hold those same beliefs, and then does the work and study necessary to learn how to practice the religion and honor the Wiccan Deities.
While it is true that magic is among the practices shared by Wiccans, Wicca is not just about doing spells, etc. In fact many of us do very few spells on any sort of regular basis. If it's the magic that interests you rather than the religion, then you will want to look at other possibilities other than being Wiccan.
One possibility, given your interests, would be witchcraft. Witchcraft IS a form of magical practice which does not necessarily have any relationship to a particular religion. While some witches are Wiccan, that is not the case with all witches.
