Let me explaine what happened; I was working on a visualization of something I repetedly see in my mind. Usually its almost always the same when I see it, there are very simple sutle changes, but the place, people involved and time of day are always the same. This time however I decided to meditate and focus on what was happening, visualizing each small detail, smell, touch, sounds ect. Normally I can get some of them but not all of them, but again this time I spent more time working with it. I felt more connected with the visulisation this time, more in tune with it, then something very strange happened. Now I know for a fact this has not yet come to pass, because I am involved. As I was becoming more detailed with the visualization, all of a sudden I felt as if I released from my body, my minds eye went purple and spiraled quickly into what I would call a "rabbit hole" and all of a sudden it felt as if I was inside of the visualization, I saw something vividly that I had not seen before and all of my senses were heightened as if there. This only lasted a second or two at best, as soon as it started I could not breath and I was pulled back to reality quickly as if from a nightmare including sitting up and gasping for air.
What was that? What is it called?
As scary as it was the first time, I am looking forward to trying again, hopefully finding a way to stay longer each time. Please pardon my spelling errors, my phone is not playing fair about letting me go back and fix them.

I find the post a little confusing but getting the gist of the fact you believe you were perceiving a future event it would be some form of precognition. I'm not sure if others have had similar experiences but while time travel physically is impossible I wonder if you may have astral projected into the future based on your comment "all of a sudden I felt as if I released from my body".
I was wondering the same thing, but assuming being somewhere during an event that has yet to happen is impossible to my knowledge I am still confused. Of course I am hoping for some feedback from seasond veterans who may know what caused this.

I know it is impossible to be there physically but as people cannot effect things in astral form and it is more of a spiritual state, there are those who can foresee future events in situations such as dream states, etc... I can't see why it wouldn't be possible to foresee the future via astral projection though it may just be a form of precognitive vision that felt like astral projection. As you say there are many experienced people on this site especially in regards to astral projection so I'm sure someone can help in discovering what is happening.
Physically, we cannot enter the future, simply because that's breaking a barrier humans cannot do. And the fact we can't exist simultaneously exist with ourselves in a given point of time. But, perceiving and even seeing the future, is believed to be possible. It sounds as if you saw a thread of what could be, and if you did, that is rather interesting. If I were you, I would attempt to retry this, and attempt to see if you can't get better, clear results and even learn to use this.
Yes, I do plan to attempt this again, it was amazing yet frightning at the same time. If the lack of being able to breath part was not present I may have thought nothing of it other then maybe drifting into a self created dream. When I was younger I had a dream, or more so a nightmare where I thought I was drowning, in that instance waking up not being able to breath seemed normal, yet with this projection or whatever it is, there was nothing to cause such a reaction. Never the less, when time permits I will attempt this again to see if it can be duplicated and if so, what happens next.
I believe you did astral project into the future. This is a very unique skill. I've seen visions and fortune telling, which have always predicted what will happen if you do not change course, but this sounds like it could be far more powerful. I think the reason you couldn't breathe was because you suddenly "fell down the hole" instead of carefully lowering yourself like I do when I project. You probably had a sudden shock, either your body was briefly stunned or you were surprised when your astral form didn't have lungs. I suggest learning to set breathing on "autopilot" so you won't have to worry about it.
