Meaning of long hair?

What are symbolic/spiritual/etc. meanings of long hair? Anyway, I'm a male, and I'm wondering. I am considering letting it grow.

i don't know of any really except for the tale of Samson. it's a bible story about a man who was granted strength through his hair, his wife Delilah cut it off one night which resulted in his death [after being beaten and blinded of course.] i do know many cultures see hair and certain styles to represent different things, such as class, occupation and age. in Egypt when a cat dies, they would shave all the hair off their bodies in mourning. [including eyebrows]

depending on what pagan path there might be some significances, but all i can think of is using it in spells, like making poppets.

If you cut your hair you will forget.

When I cut my hair, that I would sit on, I became weak and sick. I am now growing it back out. I also put on a bunch of weight too.
