Are they? I'm too scared to cast a spell because people tell me that.

unless you call upon Satan they're not. magick is energy found in nature. a person would cast a spell by tapping into this natural energy, and directing it onto a given path. [luck, love, curse] the energy is neutral until the caster gives it a purpose, it then becomes positive or negative. Satan plays no part in this equation. magick isn't attached to any one deity unless the caster calls upon them for guidance in the spell.

I posted on something similular to this. As Nekoshema said, but missed a point, "Satan" isn't apart of this because of the reason, not everyone believes in "Satan" either. Satan comes from the "Christianity" and somewhat "Catholic" religions.

Casting a spell is more or less praying. Sending your thoughts out into the universe in hopes of it coming true. Good or Bad it's up to the person. No spell has it's own meaning on it's own, the meaning comes from the caster.

Now you will come acrossed groups like "Satanists" and you will probably think, sense it's in their names that they are "Satan" worshippers. That is not true. Many "Satanists" do not believe in the devil or "Satan". Satanists are people who are individual in their paths. Not all Satanists are mean. The reason I tell you is because there are many confusions.
