How do you determin what tools you need to cast your spell?

It depends on the spell. I usually put together offerings to God/Goddess by combining at least one earth element since my elements are Earth and Fire. Find the element you work best. And you can construct the spell coming from your elements. Like feathers for air. And water for water. And I use pure essential oils for scent. And pentagrams for protection. I also use feathers, rocks, seeds, or gemstones. Like for example. I made a spell to make it rain peace.

The spell I made:
Offering to moon goddess ingredients:
4 drops Olive oil, or collected rain water
4 drops Jasmine oil
4 drops Tee Tree oil
pinch of Basil
1 apple seed
1 feather

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
Set it out on a Full Moon outside.
Make sure it's safe and no one dumps it out.
Leave out over night.
Must be casted on a Full Moon.

Say these words:
Oh, Goddess, I call upon you. I ask to rain peace on this Earth. Clouds from the North. And clouds from the South. I give you my offering. I call on air with this sweet aroma. To send the wind peace through air. Please let this be So mote it Be!

AS for writing spells. They are kind of like prayers. You want your prayers to be answered. You can be as poetic as you want. Every witch is different. They use a number of different ways to construct the spell. I think of ingredients like offerings to the moon Goddess. Just find a method that works for you. And always thank your elements and God/ Goddess for delivering your answered spell (prayers).
