Im new to herbs but a resesrcher by nature so Ive found several sources to pull from. Spme are conflicting. Does anyone have a successful tincture for fibromyalgia you have already tried and used??? Contents of it??
Oh how I wish there was! I have fb, and its quite disabling when each day is different in level of pain and clear thinking (fibro fog). You can make tinctures for some symptoms. And even teas for calming on days that its overwhelming. For memory, the smelling of rosemary helps. For sleeping, you can make teas and/or tinctures containing herbs that help for sleep. But that's it. If you come across one, let me know, PLEASE...BB
Right now I am trying a Chinese herb called Shen qu. It's supposed to cure leaky gut syndrome which supposedly is the cause of all hidden food allergies that cause all Fibromyalgia flare ups.
I'm not gonna lie...the herb is horrible tasting. Lol! But I'm willing to try anything. ;)
I haven't worked with anyone with fibromyalgia yet but from the symptoms that I have read of it these are the herbs I would recommend trying: Catnip (Nepeta cataria), Rosemary (Rosamarinus officinalis), Burdock (Arctium lappa), Marshmallow (Althea officinalis), Plantain (Plantago major), Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum), Rose Hips (Rosa canina, rugosa, & centifolia), Yerba Mate (Ilex paragueyensis), Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), Sage (Salvia officinalis), and Parsley (Petroselinum crispum)
You can use all of them together or make a couple different teas with only a few of the herbs in each and drink the various teas throughout the day. Sage is one that is recommended to use moderately, so you might have that in one tea that you don't use as often as the others. If you are making tinctures I would recommend making a tincture of each herb and then combining the tinctures as needed, that will give you more versatility.
For teas use equal parts and then use 1 tsp of herb mixture per cup of hot water. Steep covered for 10 minutes, strain, and drink. Drink 1 cup of tea 3 times per day. For tinctures, since they are more potent dose is a little different. In general tinctures are 1-3 drops per pound of body weight, which for most people ends up being 2-3 dropper fulls, 3 times per day.
Herbs take time to build up in the system, especially tonic herbs, so you may not notice anything for a month or so. I also recommend most people take the herbs for a set amount of time and then take an equal amount off. This is to see how much the body has improved. The longer you have taken the herbs generally the less often you need to take them to maintain your system. With some clients (specifically those who had bad allergies) after taking the herbs regularly 3 times per day for 6 months to a year they will be able to cut back to twice a day, once a day, or even every few days to weeks and still maintain their allergy free or severely reduced symptoms depending on what their goal is and how severe the symptoms were.
I don't know if you have any allergies or any other medical issues or if you are taking any medications that might have an interaction with the herbs so this is just a general list based on what the symptoms of fibromyalgia are. If you have any questions why I chose the above herbs just let me know. Hope this helps.
Fibromyalgia tincture can be made from 1 gallon of organic, medicinal marijuana trim, or bud. the better the quality bud, the better the tincture. soak in whole grain alcohol, keeping in a dark place shaking it 3 times daily. strain through a strainer. place liquid in a crock pot and cook till the smell of alcohol dissipates and you have a tincture.
