Hi. I am new to witchcraft. I am planning on being a Chrstian Witch...I am three weeks into my year and a day study. I have a question for anyone that might be a Christian Witch. Someone pointed out to me the other day that in revelations 21:8 it says that all sorcerers will burn in the lake of Fire and Brimstone. Of course I don't want that to happen to me. But my question is since it is a sorceress it would be someone that practices dark or evil magic correct? I don't want to do that I want to use my magic for healing and protection. Above all I don't want to give up on God. I would be nothing without him. If you can answer this question for me it would be appreciated.
I'm NOT a Christian witch but from what I have heard there is a theory that the bible was changed in The Middle Ages and since most people couldn't read back then and books weren't readily available to the average person no one noticed. My advice to you, and I know you didn't ask for it, and I'm sorry if I am offending you in any way is to think for yourself and decide which elements of witchcraft and Christianity you to practice.
Witchcraft was around way before Christianity so I would try and think of it as people being afraid of what they don't understand.
I'm a Catholic Wiccan and I don't wanna give up on God too. But I think people back then were just afraid of witches. I don't know if this would help but I may be Catholic but I prefer Wiccan because they are not afraid to open up to other religions. And I don't think we would burn. I hope there is a way to make Christianity and Wiccan compatible.
Sometimes when I get stuck with this question myself, I break it down into more manageable components. To be considered a Christian, you have to believe in God, believe that Jesus died for the forgiveness of all sins and to secure salvation, believe in the gospel, and live a Christ-like life. The more you get into the specifics of it, that's when you start branching into different sects of Christianity: Catholicism, Protestantism, Evangelicalism, etc. If you live your life in accordance with these beliefs, then you're considered Christian. The reasons adding witchcraft (craft, not Wicca) to the mix becomes problematic is because there are some who deemed it a practice which allows the user to have self power and self reliance, things that Abrahamic God believers are only supposed to get from...well...God. Personally, I think if you're going to go by the book, so long as you practice in a way that has your power and control ultimately in the hands of God, then that is what would constitute a true Christian witch - a God believing/loving/worshipping person who practices craftwork and lives their life according to Christ's example. When combining Wicca and Christianity, you're trying to meld together two very different systems of belief, and reconcile them in such a way that they make sense and work well together...but personally - and again, this is just my opinion - I don't think it works out too well. Sure, you can take elements of Wiccan practice and incorporate Christian themes, but to some, this would be considered impossible, trying to balance and live with one foot in two different worlds.
If it's something that truly means a lot to you to discern, take the time to talk to fellow Christians, Christian witches, Wiccans, regular witches, and - if you can find some solid ones - Christian Wiccans. See how they live their lives, check out their belief systems, and see what does/doesn't fit into what you're trying to accomplish here. Spend time taking it up with God personally through prayer. Ultimately, you know you best, and if being authentic and genuine with your practice is what you're striving for here, then that's all that really matters. :)
i am here in the same boat as you. something that i have resently came acrosed the same feelings. it is to my understanding that blood magic is what we no longer have to do. and as long as we are asking for things in Jesus name then he is happy to give. when casting a spell or praying we are still asking God for his guidence and power. in the book of john chapter 13 he also says ask in jesus name and ye shall resevie. i dont want to go against God, Jesus, or the Holy sprit. but i do want to be wiser of the greater power. and i know that its more then just what i have learned in church. pl let me know if this has helped

There are many Christians who practice folk magic. More popular in the southern states, it's called Hoodoo or conjure (to the rest of us). Many of these people are Protestant, Pentecostal, Catholic or Spiritualist. They call it "God's Work", as God is kept in mind or consulted through the practices. The bible, specifically psalms, is used heavily within this practice and has been since the slave trade.
I assure you, each and every one of these people are not only passionate about their religious beliefs, but they're right with their God ;)
I was born Russian Orthodox. Christian Wiccan just sounds like an oxymoron. It is almost like saying, 'Seven Day Adventist' Wiccan. How about a Pentecostal Wiccan? That would be one spirit-powered 'Pental-Wiccan.' I can believe an Orthodox Rootworker.
I believe in the Holy Bible. I've used to be a Christian (bible thumper). They called me a powerful prayer warrior and wise. Talk about praying in my sleep, speaking another language, being baptized in the Holy Ghost. Learning to anoint people with oil from the book of James.
